update regularly and on a schedule and youll be in fresh more often, and have a better chance at trending. that gets more eyes on your work.
join in threads on here - stuff like 'new comics' 'comics under x subs' are good for self promotion, as are 'first page of the month' and other comic-sharing threads. and generally be active in the forums bc being recognised here leads more people to your comic.
similarly, be active in the tapas community - engage with your readers, and engage with other comics as a reader. be verbal and passionate.
it also helps a lot to promote elsewhere - twitter is good, using hashtag events like webcomicwednesday, webcomicchat, and comicbookhour, and instagram is great for sharing art. tumblr is a little difficult but i think having your foot in the door at the tumblr webcomic scene is good anyway.
