Thankfully my comic takes place in our world, though 360 years in the future, so Google maps helps with getting some basic references down.
So basically what I do is I put some basic shapes down of about where I want things to be and about the angle I want them to be at. Then I put the perspective points down as needed. CSP makes this incredibly easy. I then make sure the horizon line is at a good level and adjust the points. I draw some basic lines to get an idea of how it looks and adjust points again if needed. And then I just draw the background stuff in there.
And then I put down the comic tones, erase them as needed, and add in some white lines or effects if needed and eventually get something like this.
