Hi everyone!
We’re a small creative team — Joyful Nib — 4 creators making Spacers&Co, a sci-fi comedy webcomic about a crew of chaotic space couriers (you can find us on Instagram @spacers_comic
).
For the past 6 months we’ve been building this universe:
— weekly episodes,
— worldbuilding & character development,
— launching merch,
— starting pages on Tapas and Webtoon,
— growing our community.
Now we’re preparing our first Kickstarter, to take the project to the next level: bigger episodes, print editions, animation — lots of plans ahead!
And we’ve been thinking: why not share this journey along the way?
— how we approach funding,
— what works,
— what mistakes we make,
— what we’re learning as we go.
Why do this?
Because it helps us reflect on our own process, get feedback, and connect with people who are interested not only in the finished comic, but also in how a creative world is built from scratch.
It’s also a way to build trust and deeper engagement — which, in the long run, is the real value for any indie project.
And if we can help other creators or teams trying to grow their own IP — that would be awesome too.
️
We’ve already been sharing some of our behind-the-scenes stories on Instagram — little bits of the process and what’s happening as we go.
But if you enjoy this kind of short, casual content — we’d be happy to share more!
And we’re always open to ideas — if there’s anything you’d like to know more about, or any format you think would be fun, just let us know!
