How would you imagine your villain's theme to be like?

To be serious: his theme would be more likely a mellow and calm song with some eerie undertone (maybe use the same string instrument as in the AI version), yet it has more climax and build up near the end in a rather dramatic vibe (I don't know about music, sorry).

I don't know how i would do to compose just a main villain theme. But if I have to make it I would prefer to make it situational.

Just 2 Tracks. His entrance track, which could be flaunty and edgy and dangerous. (ah I spoil a bit) I don't know how it'll sound at the moment.

and second one, a danger-lurking type of track, usually from the people fearing him when he's not around. This amazing soundtrack from the great late Morricone has that kind of mood I like. (the first half)

I would want there to be a piano playing lightly in the background, a keyboard, and a violin. I’m not sure how the notes go (I’m no musical genius) but I want the violin to sound pretty good but then have the notes go off key time to time. Why? Symbolism.

Boy, there's a few ways to go about it.. I actually had a few ideas before but then I kinda changed my opinion on how to approach it lately. In essence, I'm going for a more traditional Japanese vibe melody-wise, seeing as she's based off of folklore from the Edo Period.

I had a battle tune planned that was gonna be her theme originally, but then I went and made an actual theme just for her. Now I have the idea of using motifs instead of using entire dedicated songs exclusively, that way you can "feel her presence" in other songs as well.

I've actually sort of thought about this before. I've thought about themes for all of my characters, actually, because I've always kinda wanted to compose my own music - especially for comics.

(Can't go too into spoilers, bc I'm talking about characters for a comic I've yet to release)

I feel like the theme for my comic's antagonist, Varan, would be written in such a way that it can be viewed through his perspective. Like, he's that type of villain that does the type of things he does because it's what he believes is right, but in the process, ends up losing everything he's ever cared about. I'm thinking the beginning would sound sort of like a hero's theme, and as the song progresses it starts getting more and more intense, chaotic, and evil-sounding as my main cast keeps foiling his plans and he starts getting desperate for the results he wants, until the end, where it slows down to a degree to represent that he's lost everything he cared about, but especially the respect he once had from his daughter (the protagonist).

If I do end up making my own music, I'd imagine all of the major characters would have a leitmotif of sorts, like an instrument that plays through their themes and represents them. I feel like Varan's would be some sort of percussion instrument, while at the end it would be a violin (since that's his daughter's leitmotif as well, haha) or a music box for... reasons I can't say due to spoilers, haha. The song itself would honestly probably be the longest in the OST, I'd imagine it span maybe 7-8 minutes.

Anyway, I really have to pick up music production sometime because I can write a whole novel for what soundtracks I could imagine making for my characters, jesus christ.

I've got a whole playlist of mood themes for my main villain, Dark Lord Nycticorax, and what they share the most is a tense mix of guitar and orchestra. This character has quite the presence when they show up and seem to have control of the situation when confident, and absolutely destructive when not. Here's the song that probably exemplifies this the most when I'm trying to write or draw something relating to them -

The most villainous character in my comic so far, Douglas, actually has a connection to my mc, and as such he would have a theme similar to the mc's theme.

I always thought Shoot to Thrill would make a nice unofficial theme for Andrew, my mc

And since the villain has a connection to him, I figured another ACDC theme would do the trick (just an example)

This is funny because most of my characters are created when I hear certain songs. So my main antagonist was created when I heard this song:

I have songs that I associate with the two long-running villains I've introduced so far, as well as a general idea of the vibes I'd wanna see in a custom theme for them.

Azrael is direct, confident, and aggressive, with a hint of underlying sadness - a need for control born of wanting to wipe out anything that could hurt her so she finally feels safe.

As for this fellow...a more subtle threat, constantly lurking and inescapable, with elements that sound strange and alien to it to give an unnerving feeling.

Also maybe not a direct villain theme per se, but I picture something like this for the current boss battle going on in the story. Brutal, aggressive percussion, etc.

There are many variety of villains I would like to make:

such as one who has a goal to conquer so much for the sake of greed and glory without realizing what he/she left behind is destruction and slaughter all around and they don't seem to care.

And the other who swore an oath to stay loyal to the villain side to the very end even if it cost them their lives.

Or a villain who like how things go and wants to maintain it, fighting the heroes who are trying to overthrow tyranny and the villains won't allow that.

And of course, a character who seem to be too extreme on his/her actions, something horrific and downright disturbing but there must be a justification on why the villain turned out the way they are, as these words I stay true to it: "No one is born evil, they were just developed to become one".

And lastly, an evil character who manage to achieve his/her goal after all their hard work and would find some slight chance to admire them because of their success and to feel a little sense of sympathy once everything they wanted gets thrown out the window by the protagonists because of the bad things they've done..
