I’m not that interesting, sorry.

I am N. I create rip off stories when I’m bored and hope to make comic and/or novels of my original plot-lines (and possibly my rip off.)

“B-But I can fix him!” -generic protagonist trying to change the school’s “bad boy” who has an unnecessarily dark backstory for a high schooler.

[image] My MC Knox Wyld is written to be very intelligent (the most in fact) yet is shown in the story to be an idiot by making dumb choices.

@NickRowler OH MY GOODNESS SKSKSBEKOSBDNEKK THANK YOU! I totally forgot about Priya and now it makes sense! Thank you all for helping me though.

I recently gave one of my characters a major redesign, however she reminds me of some other character I’ve seen before for some reason. I can’t quite pick out who so I came to the internet for an answer. [image] What do you all think?

I’m just curious if it’s an artist thing or if it’s weird. I know it’s random but it’s just a genuine question. We all knew those sharpie sniffers in elementary school, so are you still one of those? Cause I am.

I’ve been on Tapas and the forum for 2 years. Quarantine was a great time to come I must say. I might not post anything comic or writing wise on Tapas anymore, but I love checking in on the forums and seeing stuff. In fact! here’s my improvement from my first comic to my most recent art; [image] […

Long title but you get my point. I want to hear stuff that mean the exact same thing, but are said differently to set a certain tone or mood about a thing, character, or place. I’ll go first: Tanned and Sun Kissed Skin. Tanned sounds more informal and rough while sun kissed can be seen as a more f…

Depending on what computer and what tablet you’re using, it’s pretty possible to draw on the bed. I used to use a laptop for drawing for about 2 months and it was very nice for bed work. It also depends on the amount of cords you need. One outlet can work nicely if you’re using a laptop and the tabl…

I like drawing with pen (not surprisingly.) but not like, the pens I’m supposed to. I get the cheap ones that are supposed to be used for writing. I use them for writing, but mainly for drawing. I just find I kill through them really easily. Even good quality writing pens I’ve gotten lasted me abo…

The Arial font on the page is killing me- And the cursive font I can’t understand either~

I only ask because I have the tendency to over exaggerate how good my older writing was and complain how I didn’t improve at all and whatnot. Now that it’s been a longer time, I realize my writing style is basically the same and my actual stories are LEAGUES better than what I wrote originally. I gu…

Honestly dude, Valid. Eyepatches make everything better.

@Lulusugar Because it’s the one thing I still cannot draw properly. Same for like, 90% of beginner and amateur artist. I’m pretty sure they have like, a hatred for newer artist too.

You’re totally not biased when you speak the truth. Let’s hear them. I’ll start: “I’m not biased, but I think drawing hands is overrated. Who needs them anyways?”

@AmeTsunami I understand the reason why they say it but honestly, I agree with you there. Hyperrealism only to move onto cartoonism? Kind of dumb @LCT_m_a_d just pop off buddy @DokiDokiTsuna honestly the amount of time I get art advice, I end up thinking about it and going like “how tf am I suppose…

This is just a place to drop you hot takes in art. I was bored and I wanted to see what things people think about art. Here’s mine: Your ability to pick up and understand art is the talent, not the fact that you do art. Literally anybody can do art. And literally anything is considered art now…

[image] I can’t- and I left my reference on there and still messed up the skin. Oh well Good luck to the next person. [image]

It’s almost sad to see progression. It’s like “I can’t believe that I changed so much” ….but also thank every deity out there that it isn’t the same-

2018 [image] 2020 [image] 2022 [image] 2021 [image] I like to think my art is almost unrecognizable now

When looking at stuff you made while as a beginner, is there something you wish you could’ve told your younger self? Either that or something you commend your younger self for doing? For me, I’m glad I didn’t settle with my first book’s lore. Because I decided not to keep most of it, it helped wit…

So it’s a random thing really. I feel like Mary Sues get a bad rep of being a thing that beginners make and how it’s good to have them unless you’re planning on publishing them. However… I feel like there are times where they’re important to have in a story. Like for a god or goddess. They’re ty…

* *dramatic gasp **

Just hide your lineart and see the monstrosity that comes from it I’ll start: [image]

Would that mean every monologue is just them drifting off while being told something?

It could be for one of your characters, or a character in a preexisting media. For me, I made one of my characters a picky eater, as I’m a picky eater, so I can relate to him more. Example: refusing to eat any vegetables or fruits but being very selective with the meat eaten.

My title did not have to be that long- oh well, specifics are good Here’s mine: [image] And the character in question (the villain of the story [image] Her whole arc is the idea that you could have fooled everyone, but you will still lose.

I’ve had this happen to me too in the past! I don’t really understand how the numbers add up but it would be nice to know.

If it’s a problem with the style that you have now then I would just experiment and implement the things that you personally like in other people’s art and put it into yours. If it’s a completely motivation issue then I say either do something you really enjoy that ISN’T art related, or redraw an …

It looks like they’re dodging an attack of some sort. It’s a little stiff but it gets the job done
