well hugs are usually fine in my book, but just lunging at someones face for an open mouth kiss out of the blue...? yeah, that would 100% be a deal breaker

That's correct, Zack lost his arm while at the factory. But this is already after that

What's happening in this scene is Kyara being grossed out by the confession of a random SenSec guy, and Quinn (the green alien) dealing with the guy haha.

It makes more sense if you read it within the context of the short story.

Mad would get very uncomfortable and try to laugh it off, being like, "Ah, whydja 'ave to slaughter the poor duckies on my account? They were too pretty to die."

Hallie would also probably get a little awkward but be more like "Thank you, iz very sweet."

Before you ask, the red-headed one is not a child, that's Mad.

makes sense, but even not caring about flowers could be a reaction (like my character Mad mentioned above. Not a flowers gal, but she would still have A reaction)

He'd have a very smug face for like a few seconds, then very respectfullt accept them. also expect 10 times as many flowers as you gave him the very next morning.

Zov'ha
My novel actually starts with the names of two of Zov'ha's favourite flowers (though she doesn't remember they were her favourite) "Violet lungworts and pink fairy slippers bloomed here and there, faintly glowing in the shade of the trees..." If anyone gave these flowers to her, even someone as obnoxious as Aekis, she'd bashfully thank them and keep them as rememembrances.

Marana
Lots of folks would apprach Marana with flowers, if they DON'T know her. Go ahead, try giving her flowers. She'll first stiffle a laughter, then pretend it's alright and accept them and thank you. Then she'd laugh, but amicably, and hug you for being such a romantic.

Aekis
Being an Astraleid, he would first be confused. He knows about the human tradition of giving flowers to the one you love, but he would totally not expect it. If a human gave these to him, he'd probably scoff and cross his hands. If an Astraleid gave him flowers, he'd probably kill them (it's not their way).

Should I make Kattar buy Alicia flowers in a chapter? Would people like to see that? I'm thinking about it now, because I just realized that as of yet, it's only gone vice versa.

She also bought him chocolates but...well...that went down interestingly.

Oh if Melissa's husband bought her flowers she'd be super happy and give him a kiss. He doesn't care for flowers, but he'll do stuff like that randomly for her even when there's no occasion. It's his way of being sweet, despite how stoic he tends to be.
