Mrs. Moon doesn't have anyone she likes romantically and while she never really gets uncomfortable, she would not be happy about receiving flowers, though she would accept them graciously, keep them in a jar on her kitchen table or counter until they wilted, and then throw them away without sentiment. If her son asked about the flowers she would try to explain them away as casually as possible to try to keep him from reading into it.
Now when she was younger, and dating Victor, she appreciated receiving flowers. She liked the flowers and would thank him, not excitedly, but cheerfully, and ask if he was planning to try to paint them, because she knew he would do a really good job at it if he tried.
But she's not felt that way about anyone for a very long time.
