Here's one of the Mcs, Xun from my comic, he can transform parts of his body/full body into liquid to smash and drown enemies. (he's part of a trio that each repersent states of matter -liquid, solid, gas)
Seeing that you enjoy hair, he has waist -length hair under the cap so you can always go wild with that and his liquid body parts.

Ah Grayson looks lovely in your style! He does have that tired detective look, I agree. He could definitely be one in another universe! He's not a smoker now but he may have tried smoking when he was younger.

Since they come from multiple artists there is a lot of variation in their designs, so feel free to take some artistic liberties if you want to.

One is a blue-haired show-off kinda guy named Zarco.
