What's my favorite I've composed?
I'm gonna answer with my favorites from different stages of my music. There's too much to boil it down to just one lol. There's 4 distinct parts of it. Early, middle, late, and current. So, I'll highlight 4 songs.
Earliest favorite has to be Chronophobia. The finishing track of the EP. I kinda wish I had more to consider from my early stuff, there's an entire lost album of my earliest attempts at metal (and just music in general). Anyways, this one's super solid imo, just gotta cut down the long intro.
Middle favorite goes to Distant Home. The title track of Distant Home I & II. (Originally two separate EPs made back to back.) Crazy enough there's still a few things I'd change in the song What pushes this over is the sentimental value. This song made me feel like I was finally expressing myself fully as a musician and composer. That second half still gets me in the feels for the fact that goes from this sudden aggressive angst to an emotional climactic ending.
Late favorite goes to Untitled.05 for just.. the sheer amount of work that went into the WIP. Over 7 minutes and it still ain't done?? There's even a mistake left behind in this where I tried out putting distortion on the bass and it was supposed to turn off, but that mever happens here. The bass cuts off near the end too lol It was meant to be this song that explores a few different time signatures, but it expanded into something else entirely.
Current favorite actually goes to the Project Shade Theme, but for the sake of talking about completely original material, close second goes to the Dahlia demo I wrote a few months ago. This is partially due to the fact that it opened up my eyes to the power of digital amp plugins. It was written in a few days during a trial, I wasn't expecting to like it so much. Not just that, but I started realizing that my musical tastes are kinda hitting the peak of what I wanna hear from myself. I've never had such high self-esteem while making new material tbh
sorry for taking a while to answer, I had to legitimately go back and listen to old stuff to solidify my favorites lol
