i am writing a graphic novel (this is my first try at art stuff oof) and i need an artist to go along with my story. i can kinda draw but not very well. someone local would be best (austin tx.) but its not necessary.

• A title (at least an interim working title)
• Is it paid or unpaid?
• Who are YOU? Especially since this is your first writing project.
• What sort of art are you looking for?
• How big is the project?
• What's your story about?

Its called Mochi Bl apparently there is something called a bts that's related to that but my project is not. It's a fantasy. I like a lot of different art styles so I would give the person a rough idea and ask them to draw that as like an interview like maybe 50ish just ballparking it for them to do the sketch. It's paid I can negotiate a lot I'm kind of a pushover. I have about 5 chapters written and 1 and a half sketched. I have it outlined. My project I think would take maybe 3 months tops depending on how fast you are. It's only 10 chapters. I am working through med school so what I would probably do is finish the written portion and would give my input and feedback to whoever is doing the art.

Whoa there. How long are these chapters? 10 chapters in 3 months is a lot and that only gives the artist 9 days to complete a chapter.

Art takes way longer than you think it does.

Oof okay. The chapters are 4ish pages. It's a short story so all in all 40 pages but that's just with my sketching process.

40 pages in 3 months is still an absurdly tight turn around for a single artist. That leaves them just a little over 2 days per page, assuming they don't take a single day off.

Not giving a time estimate, unless there is a reason for a deadline. Instead asking artists how long it would take them to complete something.

You may also want to adjust your phrasing, because typically in webcomics a "chapter" is at least 20-30 pages. It takes the place of "issue" in print comics for most people. Saying you estimate it to be 40 pages is far better information as the number of chapters won't matter to an artist judging whether or not they can do the work.
