I really want my story to be ready to release as soon as I can but I basically have nothing

Good question. I know popular novelist friends say "around 1000 words" is a good length for a chapter, and I've heard maybe 2-3 chapters a week is a good pace for novels on Tapas? But try to build it around what you can comfortably work around your personal schedule and writing speed.

I mean... personally I make comics, so I don't really know that much about the exact small details, but in comics, it's always about balancing "how long can my updates be to make sure they look decent, provide a satisfying chunk of content and I can update weekly." Not being honest with yourself always leads to burnout, so maybe give it a go making some chapters. You'll want a buffer of at least three chapters anyway before posting!

As some one who makes novels with more successful novelist friends. Honestly for webnovel its not really necessary to have all that (professional editing, beta/alpha readers, ect). Its only really necessary if you were releasing an E-book on amazon where the standards are higher. Most reader here are young and have English as 2nd language so the perfect grammar spelling are not exactly needed. But if you can afford it it would make cleaning your story up for print quicker and its a neat little bonus. But the bare minimum is your story has to be readable.

The most people publish is one episode 1k-1.5k words a week. Albeit I know one bigger one who publishes 2k-3k every 2 weeks to only once a month (but by the time they did so they already gathered their reader base).

As for word count a day it depends. I personally prefer to have written the whole story before I publish so word count a day doesn't really matter. But regardless its always good to have at least a months worth of episode already pre-written in advance in case you cant write for a period of time

But I still need a sensitivity reader. There’s a lot of stuff in it that needs someone there to look at it. And I don’t think I can just use the very first draft like this. I used to release first drafts and would end up with blatant errors like sentences that don’t finish, characters who aren’t in the scene saying or doing things, or phrases that make no sense. Or worse, accidentally insensitive phrasing, which i’ve done before a few times.

No you don't. Don't hire someone to self censor yourself. Write a good story and just release it. If it's good no one of importance will care about the wording.

I once accidentally referred to the idea that a disabled character wants to be “fixed” which is an awful trope and also not even accurate to the story at hand. And I don’t think he was well thought out enough for people to care that well.

I also probably will have genuine plot points that are fundamentally wrong from a sensitivity standpoint. There are so many ways my story can fail and so many things it can fail at.

wrt sensitivity readers, I'd probably just remark upfront that your story tries to address sensitive topics and you didn't hire a sensitivity reader, so you might have gotten some things wrong. That way, it's up to the reader to decide if they want to risk getting hurt by your potentially insensitive writing, so they can't blame you if they chose to ignore the warning and got hurt regardless ^^;

Not being accurate to the story was the problem, not saying they want to be fixed. If it would fit the story, anything goes. Just because it's insensitive doesn't mean it shouldn't be in a story. People say and do insensitive things all the time in the real world. And those people are not automatically bad or evil for doing them.(that is a trope most used by writers. you make the person say stuff to show they are the "badguy" of the story. In the real world it really doesn't work that way.) It's just how people act, which is different in each case. If it moves your story along or is a personality of a person, you can have them act any way you want.

Is it possible to ensure that your first draft is any good? I was told not to even try to make my outline good, and just let the outline tell a bad story and accept a bad first draft so you can fix it.

Actually no, the first draft WILL always be bad. Honestly its takes sooo many drafts before your book becomes close to good. Let your 1st, 2nd, 3rd draft, ect suck.

For me I just write and not care how my words come out cus I can fix it later. It really doesn't matter cus no one but myself would even read that 1st draft.

Other people do edit while the write mostly when the error is very glaring, but even then its not reccommended to do this.

Im a weirdo who enjoys editing but due to my delexia I have to do.. alot, and for this novella I had to hire an editor before I can publish on amazon.

But really it depends on if you have a time limit and personal satisfaction. some have over 5 entire year of editing before they release others 1 month.

Where are you up to in the writing stage? Is it ready for revisions, editing, etc, or is the story/first book incomplete?

It’s not ready for revision. None of my stories are. I had one that kind of was but it was straight up missing characters and had characters it shouldn’t have had so I had to scrap most of that draft. I wish I could have worked so hard on a story that wasn’t like that.

I would only suggest that you don't rush it. Focus on the task and not the one ahead...it will naturally follow. But, no point worrying about the end results - just follow the process and naturally you will get there.

No point rushing through it just to have a product that no one will enjoy and you won't be proud of. Put in the time to make sure you have a product worth putting out into the world, and one that you can be proud of and say to yourself - 'it was worth the wait'.

That's honestly what a first draft is. 99% of the time characters are removed and added after the first draft and alot of the in traditional publishing beyond the 5th draft. No need to rush as @blakestackman said
