because I`m always interested in finding new music, and thought it might be nice asking you guys and gals.

I mostly listen to OverClock Remixes since I subscribed to their Youtube Channel some years back. It's a great variety of music so I never know what to expect. I listen to my favourites on iTunes, though.

I enjoy listening to video game remixes, mashups, or really any song without lyrics. If I listen to music with lyrics I end up losing focus pretty frequently. I will also thematically match the music to whatever sort of scene I'm drawing, so slower somber songs like this for more emotional scenes and high energy jams like this or this for action sequences. Getting into the groove really helps to get me into the right mindset.

That's all for when I'm in the zone though, when I'm not working I enjoy a lot of Electro-swing like Caravan Palace, Ska like Reel Big Fish, and whatever genre Tupper Ware Remix Party call themselves.

I have lately been listening to a combination of the Pierces (primarily their album You & I, though Creation is amazing), a wide variety of Lana Del Rey's output (two summers ago I decided "one more try" and utterly fell in love; I recommend Ultraviolence highly), Tennis (their latest album Yours Conditionally just came out and it's superb), Wilsen (Sirens is a masterpiece, but even since then they've released Magnolia which was excellent, "Garden" and "Centipede", both of which were sublime), and a bit of a variety from there. I've found some serious love in tracks like Grizzly Bear and Victoria Legrand's "Slow Life" and Thom Yorke's "Hearing Damage" after being recommended them.

I like a lot of mellow stuff or things I can put on and sort of...let it surround me while I work, but I don't want it to put me to sleep.

im always discovering new music. less so these days because im so busy and/or listening to podcasts, but i trawl through NME and spotify playlists for the good new tunes. i have a penchant for making playlists, so constantly updating my library is really important to that.

some of my all-time favourite artists, though, are:
- frank ocean
- raleigh ritchie
- radical face
- angel haze
- chance the rapper
- childish gambino
- chris garneau

evidently i have a preference for hip hop. i looooove hip hop and all kinds of rapping. that said, raleigh, radical face, and garneau are a lot softer and very soulful, which is really good for character playlists.

Tangerine Dream is one of my absolute favorites. Their Underwater Sunlight album gets played a lot. Livemiles, Le Parc and Force Majure too.
Roxy Music is one of those bands I like more and more the older I get.

One of my current favorite albums is Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene III album that he released in December. I simply can't get over how good it is.

ZZ Top was one of my dads favorites. He played their music a lot. I still play their music from time to time. Their first album, Rio Grande Mud and Tres Hombres are probably my favorites. I think they are quite underrated both as musicians and songwriters. Just have a listen to Bedroom Thang and listen to how the beat and tempo changes. Their songs from the 80s and 90s like Rough Boy and Pincushion always sound good too.
