I just wanted to open a simple discussion about something I’ve noticed that’s been a bit frustrating for me.

I’ve seen that some members promote their works published outside of Tapas (like on Webnovel or Wattpad), even though the rules clearly state that promotion should be limited to stories published within Tapas only.

What really bothers me is that some people report my posts even when they are within the #promotion section dedicated to promotion (which appears when opening a new topic), while other posts that clearly violate the rules are ignored.

Personally, I only promote 2 to 3 times a day not excessively or repeatedly because I have other commitments.

All I ask is that we are fair when reporting, and if you see posts containing links to works outside the platform, please don’t hesitate to report them, just as mine are reported.

I think you're only allowed to create one promotion thread a day. Correct me if I'm wrong

I've seen you post your promo posts in threads wholey unrelated to self-promotion though, that's what people tend to flag.

Also, as an aside, the promo threads are some of the most annoying theads we've got here. So when someone new joins and only engages in self-promotion, you kinda just shoot yourself in the foot.

Honestly, to me, promoting once a day, every day seems excessive. Especially if you're creating new topics to do so. We all want to get our stuff out there, but you're not doing yourself any favors by overpromoting.

Come on, man. It seems you took people flagging your posts personal - it's not. Three people told you in other threads that it's just not the right place for you to promote, not because it was excessive promotion (like 50 posts in two hours some people do), but because it was just not a right place to do it and you didn't read what the original poster wrote in their promotion post.
Post getting flagged means that not one, but 2-3 people found your post out of place, that's all. Simply read what people write in their first post and act accordingly, no one is throwing shade on you.

I don't look at promo threads so if this were true I shouldn't have ever seen one of your posts flagged, but I have, in threads that are blatantly not promo threads, and when I look to see what you actually posted, it was just a self promo that had nothing to do with the subject, it looked copy-pasted.

You're asking the question in bad faith. It seems you're just bitter you were (rightfully) reported for spam a few times for not reading titles correctly, and now acting like a child crying "it's not fair". If you can't tell which threads are promo threads or not, I'm not confident you can tell the nuanced difference between "promoting their work on other platforms" and "discussing the pros/cons of tapas vs other platforms and mentioning that they use said other platforms to give context to their experience".

And now, I want to say I'm sorry for what I said earlier I'm new to the platform, and mistakes happen. But what really concerned me were the people who come from platforms like Webnovel, Wattpad, and others just to promote their work here. This post was directed at them, not at the writers and readers who are part of this community

Idk, doesn't concern me, if I am being completely honest.
For me personally it's just a place to talk to other creative people, I don't really care much where do they come from or what platform they promoting. Even though Tapas was one of the first platforms I've originally started posting comics many years ago, it's not my primary platform whatsoever and I am okay with the fact it's not for other people either.
