If you had to choose only 3 video games to play

Ooh I like this thread. Picking just one is way too hard and kind of annoying to choose, but three makes it a lot easier.

First, the cheating method if we count compilations:

1. Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (SNES) - it has five classic Mario games all in one pack. Some of the best games ever made, of course.
2. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (Xbox 360) - This has something like 40 different Sega Genesis/Master System games, including all of the main Sonic games, all of the Phantasy Stars, and the cool weird stuff like Comix Zone. So many good games in so many genres!
3. Rare Replay (Xbox One) - Same deal; tons of games in tons of genres, but in this case it has the Banjo games, and those three alone are enough to win me over. Hundreds of hours of content in this one thanks to the games being much bigger experience.

But compilations are cheating, so let's make the real list:

1. Zelda: Breath of the Wild - No commentary needed. I can play this game for hundreds of hours easily.

2. Civilization V or VI - both are pretty spectacular games that can suck up entire weeks of life if you let it. IDK which one would last the longest for me (depends on if you allow expansions or mods)

3. Animal Crossing (the original) - I could play this one for an eternity and the extra clunkiness involved encourages going slower and playing less each day IMO. Also this may be cheating because there's like 15 NES games in this one lol. But they're mostly all very small experiences.

I really wanted to put Don't starve and Mario Kart 8 because you said long time so i could play them without getting bored. But those three are just very special to me

Rimworld every time I touch this game, I lose weeks of my life. Yes, weeks not days. This game does something to my brain, and I'm not one hundred per cent sure it's healthy. I just opened up my Rimworld save and remembered why I rage quit. Man, I hate sieges.

I originally had The Sims 3 as my second choice, but if this doesn't include DLC/Expansions, then there's a lot more to do in Minecraft.

I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes Fallout 4, but I also love Fallout: New Vegas which has a lot more replayability and a more morally grey world where you can actually play the villain. Hell, by becoming Robert House's number one fan/minion I probably played an anti-villain role when I played that game. Although I enjoy Fallout 4, it had kid gloves on compared to Fallout: New Vegas.

Trials of Mana (Switch)

Fire Emblem Awakening (Nintendo 3DS)

I like Berseria's story more, but Zestiria's gameplay is more addictive to me. And the seamless combat transition make it better imo.
