Hi, I just started out with my novel Green Veil, and I want to ask if you saw these arts on your Tapas page? would it interest you? If you had to change it, how would you? (btw flower language is used so I can't delete them, but any critique will be appreciated)

Novel art 1:

Novel art 2:

Novel art 3:

Also if you have any preferences in novels or novel art, please write it down so I can look at it from your perspective
Hope you like it and please give feedback!

Hmmm probably not if I'm being honest

I think if I have to comment something I'd change, it would be the title text. It's a bit hard to make out (I can still read "green" but if I didn't know it was titled Green Veil I would not have been able to read it as such

Thank you for the reply! I will try to work on it :tapa_pop:
Also if you have a preference in novels, I hope you can write it down so I will be able to look at my art from your perspective! Thank you again

Also at first I thought I would make a different thumbnail, but I thought of it as too negative. But now hearing your opinion, I may draw that version! So if I finish and send it to you, would you also be willing to tell me your opinion on it? Thank you! :coffee_love:

So here it is!

It kind of looks like a romance story, but people can think its a slow burn so they'll still read it. I didn't intend it to look like romance, but it turned out like that somehow. It's kind of clickbait, but not at the same time.

When I see this, I don't think of it as a romance novel necessarily but it kind of looks like that.
What are your thoughts?

Hello! Thanks for sharing.

I'd comment on the title. It looks like "Green Veie" at first glance rather than "Green Veil". Make the last letter higher (I do have cursive handwriting so I know sometimes e and small l presents problem).

About the artstyle, is it intended to drawn in that style? I haven't read your story, just synopsis and the cover. If it's intended for kids, maybe it'd reach them (it does has this inner child vibes). But if not, maybe it need quite adjustments, imo

well it's not necessarily for children. The story will get pretty gruesome in the future (SA, Physical abuse, Ped0philia, Mental torture, death, gore, etc...), so it's not for the weak heart. But thank you for pointing it out! If you have any thoughts on the most recent picture I posted (above your reply), please tell me!

Yep! It's an important part of the story, because the 2nd MC is kind of in it. It will be explained in the third chapter which will come out either on the 9th or earlier.

Oh my, I think our replies got posted around the same time (or maybe not, I tend to type my opinion for a bit time so I won't miss anything).

For the topics, well, they are gruesome indeed. Back to your intention. The vibrant color does make it much less darker for the themes you stated (but Happy Three Friends was a thing too, and fooling many people on top of that). Maybe just give a mature tag and trigger warnings, if you have the same vision as that series :joy:

For romance genre, I won't think a novel with anyone holding a scythe implies romance, though. But I can't speak for everyone other than me.

About the illustration scythe, it does imply a scythe, but I guess the handle should be longer? Or maybe if it is indeed one with short handle in the story, just leave it be.

All of the handle doesn’t show in the art. The scythe is too long for that (2.5 metres). Also, thank you for the response! Although it will have these topics, it won’t be necessarily the main focus, mainly backstory and such. But it will be gruesome at times. All together, I will try posting an episode with this as the novel art, and another one with the previous to see what happens. Again, thank you for the response and I will try to look out for any confusion!:tapa_pop:
Also, if you may, can you tell me some popular tags that indicate these topics? Also, these topics won’t come yet but further in the story.

You're welcome.

About tags, I think the best option is to put what your main story (or how you classify it if you're searching it).

I am still trying to pick and mix myself, but if I am a reader, I'd first put what is the most depicts your story or what a reader should expecting from your story. For example, is your story heavily influenced by those psychological background stories? Are there mysteries? Or what elements you can shove in the tags to make yours visible?

These are theoretical, though. I wish there is a tag list (or maybe I am the one who dunno its existence?)

I dont know of any either. But it would be a big help! Maybe in the future. Nonetheless, thank you for the advice. :coffee_love:

Right! I'd love to see one 🥺 it might help to tag our story better
