I think, the perfect medium other than a comic would either be an anime adaptation (as long as it stays close to the source material) or even better an jrpg with gameplay similar to maybe Bayonetta or something like Xenoblade (or maybe even some sort of combination of those two), due to my comic being more of a shonen-thing with cool fights.
I even thought of an mmorpg once, since the world-hopping is a main aspect and the basic duties of the teams are going on regular patrols around their Sectors, fighting against Phantasms or help in certain areas to get friendly with the locals. Maybe you could even choose the team you want to play in when creating a character, which all have a different field they specialize in.
As for the jrpg variant: It would be cool if you can choose which character you can play as, while all play with different abilities, weapons and combos. As for ones who may look similar on the outside, like Silver and Troy as examples: Troy is more of a melee fighter, preferring to use his Psycho Cut more than Shadow Ball, compared to Silver, who's more of a ranged fighter, keeping his enemies away from him. Generally, most attacks could even be combined for some cool tag-team specials or even be used for ultimates!
Especially in the story, when a character has their special moment and you get to play as them in the heat of the moment or if they happen to get some sort of power-up, I think that would just intensify the experience and make it even more epic.
And for the cherry on top of the cake: include semi- or full open-world with cool areas to explore!
There's just one probem with it, which would be that the story in form of sagas wouldn't be enough to sort them, since they all span over multiple parts which are long enough to make up a single game with 80 hours of story content on their own ;w;
