I'm 30 this year, and I suppose there's no better time to reveal that just as I'm done with my 3rd chapter of my first novel.
For the last 4 years, I've been working at a chemical engineering department as a tutor, lab manager and occasional researcher (I've got one paper published, and hopefully 2 more by the end of this year). I'm enjoying what I'm doing right now, but I really enjoy writing stories too, which is why I decided to join the Tapas AF Tourney.
Balancing my current work and this new endeavour would be a challenge, but I think this will help me build discipline and consistency, alongside time management. I've also been incorporating some of the things I've learnt from work to build my stories, setting, and characters, and I think that's something that would make my writing a little different from others. I also hope that the practice of storytelling (and promoting the stories) will help me to be able to engage my audience at work better.
Do I want to make writing into a full-time job? I'm not sure yet.
