Thanks, Judith Beheading Holofernes does seem to be a popular one - I post my comics to Reddit and it's currently my best rated submission. I get the commentary on the lack of theme - right now I'm not sure whether or not it's a flaw because I'm using this comic as essentially a dumping ground for all my amusing thoughts, so it's bound to be a mixed bag for most people.

I get more experimental with my art with later strips, so I would be curious what you think of those - but I understand you're limiting how much of these comics you read to get through the reviews.

I believed using other free art programs can lead to less jagged lines since lines default anti-alias thingy makes the line less jagged(can be changed within the Microsoft paint program itself but the program when I last used it didn't allow for layers and other stuff). Don't quote me on that I could be wrong

Krita(very complicated at first so best start of with the ones above)

Are free art programs I used to use. Media bang has the advantage of cloud storage and easy creation of panels, and krita once you get used to it has more features(text tool is not that good and it ran pretty badly on my ex-laptop but it was the last one I used before buying clip paint) and Fire Alpaca is good for animation and has a decent text tool

Your welcome. Don't be afraid too use more than one program for your comic. Like I used Krita to draw the comic itself and then used Fire Alpaca for the text. Or using one program to sketch and another one to ink and color.

Most free art programs tend to have one key thing you want missing so its alright to use multiple for one project.

Yeah I get that. Its more how many comics I'm working on at the movement. With a maximum of 5. I'm not doing more right now.

I'm curious, I exclusively use Krita for my comic and know nothing about Fire Alpaca - what benefit have you found for using both?

I personally found Fire Alpaca's text tool much easier and less cumbersome to use and its images resizing feature more versatile so if I wanted to shrink a large image to a specific dimension, Fire Alpaca was a lot easier in that aspect.

I see, thanks! Yeah, I've found that Krita's text tool and resizing through it have been hassles for me as well, but so far they haven't been so much of an annoyance to me that I would want to switch to another program to handle those functions. Maybe after I've been doing this for a bit longer, I'll find the value in it - in which case, I'll keep your advice in mind.

Okay I'm back and this time were starting off with a review

Okay not alot of content right now. But it seems cute. The premise the typical rivals fall in love BL, but you manage to make some cute likable characters within the first few episodes so thats pretty damn neat. Its just so far seems like a comic you would read on a bad day, just a developing romance between two rivals, which is a good thing but so far other than that I don't see any other hook other than the martial arts tournament which is not given as much focus on as I liked but that may be a personal thing. I also find int cute you based a character off your own significant other I wonder what he thinks of his protraly here.

The art is very clean, I can see whats happening without confusion and the martial arts when it shows up has some very dynamic poses. Thou it borderline reminds me of wikihow art but less stiff.

Dan is an interesting comic and I have some interesting thoughts on it. First of all despite the sketchy art I love how you did the fight scenes. Lots of interesting shots, exciting moves, twists and turns that makes the fight scenes actually interesting. Dispite looking amateurish you really shine with fights. You should do more fights. However the story, I'm sorry if I come off a little mean, but I found it very funny. Like its supposed to be a boy getting powers after years of systemic abuse and harassment and with it he takes it out on everyone and everything. I have read messed mangas with the very bullied MC taking revenge in mess up ways before but this came off more comical. I think its because instead of seeing his life before it all started we immediately start with "hates society gains power punched teachers head off". Thou we get some back story later it was a little too late. And the big muscular guy breaking down the wall all I could think of was "OH YEEEEEAH'.

It could go with quite unassuming kid goes berserk all of a sudden one day but the art kinda have to reflect that moody atmosphere which it doesn't. The sketchiness of his art perfectly reflects his rage but the anime style fights make the whole thing come off as comical. If it was supposed to be campy as hell black comedy that would count as a win.
