Illustrated Novels. Yay or Nay?

So I've decided to try something a bit different by adding images to my web-novel. (The special effects were done using Adobe.)

Do you guys think illustration enhances a web-novel or not?

Hmm, I like the simple b&w illustration at the top of the page like a lot of print books have done, but the others feel too... different. Like it feels kind of feels like a sudden interruption more than an addition. I'm not sure if it's the whole sudden color or lack of pages, but I think less is more with novels (Unless you do something like that massive Hugo novel: keeping them separated, and black and white, it it kind of was less of contrast and could focus on the story)

I'm a fan of illustrated novels in general, as long as aren't too many ; what I mean by that is , it's awesome to see a picture of a described place or an intense scene, but an abundance of illustrations can destroy a reader's mind picture (I hope my english is, well, understandable ^^' )

I think they look really neat! all of them! but I do think that if you want to do illustrations is better if you stick to just one style and in a sense "standardize" the design of the illustrations.

For example the third picture is more vertical than horizontal and it feels like it's really breaking the rhythm of the page. I would suggest trying to keep most of the pictures more horizontal, like the second and fourth picture.

I also think you don't need that many illustrations on a page sugar. 2 is fine for that amount of word count!

Thank you all for your constructive feedback. Now I know what not to do going forward.
I'll try limiting the use of illustrations. Some of my readers enjoy it, so I won't remove them completely.

Just the images, not the vectors.

no, I mean insert the image in to the episode, I don't see any button say that. I have a novel to and would love to do that

You use mozilla firefox and you simply drag the images....for some reason...it only works with firefox!

Please share your wisdom with us! I love the idea of using images in my story! That's a feature that I kind of enjoy on Wattpad. Images can really enhance a story, bring something to it visually. I would like to be able to do that on Tapas too!

To add images, you must use Firefox. Just paste the image onto the page.
