I've been writing a novel for a while (I'm on chapter six), and I was planning on turning it into a web comic because my art has increased a lot which is shocking. Unfortunately, I'm being punked today. I created the thumbnail, created the vertical cover, and no matter what I did it would not upload to anything.

So, after having a panic attack I reset my internet. That worked, but you know what else didn't? MY LAPTOP! Lord have mercy. It won't work anymore. Every time I try to reset it, restore it, or even repair it all it does is go on a repair loop and then shits its pants and tells me it can't repair. So, not only do I not have the laptop that has all my stories, pictures, and what not but...I can no longer play my video games . So, spending five days installing mods and growing my character into this badass Redguard was wasted.

I'm smiling through the pain because if I don't I'm going to bawl my eyes out.

Soo maybe send some words of encouragement please before I have a mental breakdown

Get your laptop to a repair shop and have it fixed. Or have them remove the HDD and set it up on another computer to recover your files.

If you're using the google Chrome Browser, try another. Chrome does have bugs when uploading onto websites.

Take a breath.
You can take the laptop to a computer shop. The tech wiz there should be able to fix the laptop, or at the very least recover the data.
If you're handy and have an extra computer, it's not too difficult to remove the hard drive and try to recover the data yourself

Yeah I'll probably do that and have them give me a quote on it. Unfortunately, it's a gaming laptop so I'm really afraid that it will be too expensive and the cheaper option might be to get another one or an iPad.

I just use a $100 dell tower I bought on ebay, a retired workstation. Well, technically, I have two now. It sure ain't the best GAMING rig, but, its a good, cheap, and reliable (enough) workspace, I really do recommend it as the easiest and cheapest solution that will last.

Always back up. Always. Get 2 hds.
For novels you don't need anything fancy anyway. Buy refurbed (workstations are best and reliable) if you can. Old doesn't mean it isn't good (still using my old i3 workhorse with windows 7)
Edit. Sounds like all you need to do is buy a new HD put it in your laptop. Install operating system. Get a caddy fir old HD and transfer back on laptop? Pretty sure all files are still there safe on your faulty laptop.

This has happened to me many times in the past. Computers dying, memory sticks corrupting, and external hard drives blowing up.

I only use online storage now (Dropbox and iCloud) and honestly, it’s worth every penny.

Aww crap. Sorry I'm late with replies! I fixed it! Granted, I lost my programs but my files and pictures are safe! Woo! Thanks for all the help! And I'm sorry I was so late with the replies!
