I'm quitting art, I'm tired of this

I uploaded a brand new series this morning for valentines day, I was proud of it, and guess what, I just opened the series, 9 views and it has already been ratebombed, its 7 stars already, I feel like just deleting it, is it worth it? Its like I'm so tired of this,
Heres the series I'm talking about btw
Do you get disincourgaed by ratings? What would you do in this situation?

don't stop, if you don't want to post on webtoon, post only here (and on other sites that don't have ratings), a lot of creators here complained for getting "hate bombed", pretty much people go and rate their work as low as possible out of spite.

So don't give up on doing something you like just because few people decided to rate your work low ( for example if you had two 10 stars and one 1 star it's average of 7, so keep in mind that one person leaving one star will mess up your ratings, but that doesn't mean your work is bad)

webtoons rating system is incredibly unreliable and many creators have pointed out instances of rate bombing for a number of reasons so while it's understandable and perfectly fine to feel frustrated and discourage i'd implore you not to let it be the reason you choose to quit

if anything it may be best to step away for a bit and maybe rest to get your mind off things but don't let others negativity or trolling be why you give something up especially if it's something you enjoy

having 11 views with immediately 6 subscribers is fantastic!
Also I'm totally agree with fleur on all points, that the 7/10 is probably averaged (and I think 7/10 is still a great rating!) and you can always upload to tapas if you are discouraged by the rating system.

I think you might have also been downrated as you did request for 10 stars and people do like to do the opposite out of spite.

I'm assuming all three of us here clicked on the link once, I may have clicked it twice which is why you can see the click counter at 5 people. (You can see how many times people had opened your link there)
I don't think any of us had downrated so it is possible it's still happening within Webtoon. So sorry you're going through this, especially during your debut!

The only suggestion I could say is maybe remove the comment asking people to give you 10 stars? People might be doing the opposite just because you had requested stars.

Yeah they really need to get rid of that rating system, its pure trash and just breaks people's hearts. Harsh that someone's hit you with that on your first page. How's about trying it on Tapas though since we're here?

Similiar thing happened to me when I decided to post Polish translations of my comics to webtoon - 1 star rating right away, my take was, if webtoon audience doesn't want it, so be it and I deleted them from webtoon (I deleted them from tapas recently as well but was because I no longer have time nor energy for translating)
Also 7.0 rating isn't bad (I'm getting worried for my series which recently fell below that... the rating system sucks so much...)

i just checked and it's back to 7 (at least for me), as @redfish said i don't think that any of us rated it low, since none of us like rating system (for this exact reason), could it be that you have specific person doing this? Someone that you know in real life ? The reason why i think it can be personal is because you have small subscribers count so it shouldn't be any of them (people also tend to hate on popular work)

ill be the crusty art vet here, and say your gonna need thicker skin. If you work professionally, (animation for me) you are constantly told how much something you made is bad, and how you should make it better. If your not used to it than it can definitely be hard to hear. Hell it's still not fun to hear 20 years into my career. But unfortunately if you put stuff out there, it will be criticized. If you can't handle that, then yeah, maybe don't worry about posting comics right now and just draw for yourself. Remember, drawing for yourself, and sharing it with friends and family IS a valid option.

Don't quit art, quit webtoons instead. There are more friendly platforms. ComicFury, for example. Give it a go.

There are people in webtoons that have nothing better to do than to go randomly go to the ratings of creators and set to 0. This recently happen to me and other creators on webtoons, it was hot topic on Reddit about this issue... I wouldn't let it get to me if i were you. But i know its a annoying dealing with the trolls. Just hang in there
