There's plenty of anxiety that comes with putting any work you've created out into the public eye. Everyone here who's posted their novel or comic has felt that fear to some degree, so know that you not alone in that feeling. Understand too that there is no such thing as perfection; whatever standard you're holding yourself to will likely never be reached, and that's okay. It's okay to make mistakes, to have some regrets, and to think there are things you wish you could do. Those are all normal parts of the creative process. And just know that it's okay to feel like "you're not good enough." Everyone gets insecure from time to time, but don't let that insecurity and fear of mediocrity keep you from pursuing a passion. No one's perfect from the jump; like I said mistakes are normal and actually expected. So just know that you are good enough and you should be proud of yourself for even making work to publish, even if you're not confident in it right now. Hope this helps

we will never know until you try buddy. dont be scared of rejection or judgement take the author/mangaka of tokyo ghoul at first people judge him/her for their crappy drawings but he/she was able to improve and proved others that he/she can do better. use everything people throw at you to your advantage

You should go for it! I was planning out my comic since 2018 and was too scared to publish it but now I regret not having done it earlier. The minimum you can gain from publishing is experience, courage and growth! (Cause later on you'll be able to see how much you've improved) so don't worry about "not being good enough". I'm even ready be the first one to read your work!

Indigo put it into words perfectly. The only thing I have to add is almost every genre, every idea has the possibility of gaining an audience (even if you're newer to creating). Whether it's 10 people or 10,000 - there will be someone who will like your work. Being a part of a community (like you're doing right now) also helps because others will help encourage you on your journey!

I know the feeling, but how will you know if you're not good enough.

Sure we won't know if it will be good or not but that's the beauty of it.

If it turns out great, that's a success, if it didn't, we take it as a challenge and listen to critiques on how to improve it and progress as time moves on.

And why don't you try it? What do you have to lose? Are you afraid of failing? That happens to anyone. Are you afraid of being rejected? Well, we don't all share the same tastes. Are you afraid of not becoming popular in your first episode? Well, nobody reaches 100 followers without making themselves known first. Are you afraid of being criticized? Well, if it's constructive criticism, it will help you be a better person. No one is guaranteed success from the start, but that is the process of gaining experience.

I really, REALLY agree with this philosophy. I think something to keep in mind, too, is even if you feel like your story "has been done before" by someone else, it hasn't been done BY YOU YET!

Every individual has unique details they can add to existing genres of any kind. Even if you don't feel like you have something ultra original (or even if you want to post fan works), people ALSO love tropes and familiar subjects! Some things are cliché for a reason, and the reason is they're fun and enjoyable, even if we see them often so I wouldn't stress too much about an idea not being good enough or original enough.
