Ehhh I don't think anyone really does this consciously; our brains are drawn towards wanting to feel special but we're kind of embarrassed to admit it, and deny (if) we think we're special because it feels elitist to say and think
I don't think we should be ashamed of merely having these feelings (that's just how human brains are wired); just be mindful not to let it carry into our actions (e.g. looking down on people who haven't achieved anything 'creative' and saying they just 'not cut out for it' instead of considering other reasons why they might not have the opportunity to do stuff other than 'lack of potential')
I think it's good to be aware of those feelings though, for those who do happen to have them. Otherwise it's easy to slip into elitist behaviour without even realising it :'D
I have, and it's super embarrassing to admit lmao XD
But yeah, I do think artists and loners are correlated to some extent, but it's not because artists = special, loners = special therefore artists = loners. It's just that loners have a time advantage over social people for practicing solitary skills (like drawing), and for some reason solitary skills are overrepresented in the category of skills we consider 'creative'
