I recently cashed out my ink/ad revenue from the last couple of months and instead of buying pizza with it as I normally do I put it into a community bail fund for the protesters in the US! There are no current protests in my country but I want to help. It's so important what these protesters are doing. Every little bit counts.
I feel a massive amount of privilege in being a creator who gets more than the average amount of attention on this platform and the ad revenue is not money I need to pay my bills. I'm going to continue to cash out ink donations and ad revenue to put toward community bail funds for as long as protests are going on.
I challenge anyone else who can cash out their ink/ad rev to do the same. Maybe Tapas can do something on their side as well (so far I've seen their only statement being a black square on instagram!) that will be useful to make some change.
edit, apologies, here's the link to the community bail fund I used: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bail_funds_george_floyd
It's currently split among 70 different community bail funds, though when I did it it was something like 38. It might also be useful to pick one from their list!
