For a good 7 weeks, Glassflower has been going through its Lynception arc. Its an arc inspired by Devil May Cry, but in a dream type setting. Its named after Inception, but in terms of dream travellers, I don't have too many immediate references. I guess Nights Into Dreams or Persona 5, but I haven't actually played either of those. Either way, the bigger inspiration is definitely DMC.
Lyn even changes a lot of her personality to fit more in line with a Dante-like Figure. The idea I was going with was that she could much more easily let loose and have a good time in the Dream Realm, where there are no real consequences for her actions. Of course I made sure that as the arc has gone on, that Lyn-isms shine through from time to time.
The other important character in this Arc is Amara Auer, whom the entire dream revolves around. The dream very much reacts to her and represents how she would've viewed things in a specific time. So a lot of the metaphors of the dream realm are characterization for her. Like how the part of her dream representing her job is made entire of newspapier or her school is made up of pencil dust.
Stuff like that. I'm taking a week off, but a new chapter is still expected this Saturday. There just won't be a new chapter next Saturday. Funny story though, this wasn't originally going to be an arc, it was gonna be a one off, but it ballooned during production lol
