Since my comic is a Bl, I use as many references as I can related to the topic of my comic, as well as Tapas and webtoon advertising.
These can be many more, there are no limits in what you try to describe.

You can check which hashtags are popular, but keep in mind that if certain hashtag has a lot of posts your post could be easily lost, so pick less popular ones but still popular enough to gain views
In that detail you are absolutely right, I forgot to mention it and it is important to put as many hashtags as you can, even if it is a bit cumbersome.
Depending on where I advertise my comic, on Twitter and Instagram, I try to use the same hashtags and of course link each link to my profile. At least that strategy has worked for me, although I am not an expert on the subject.

Due to characters being from other genres, I'm able to replace the stick figure tags with stuff related to them. For example; I have a superhero character and I'm able to replace "stickfigures" with "superheroes". :v
