I'm an artist so I obviously can't speak on behalf of writers and certainly don't aim to speak over any writers either but I'm actually curious of how writers content performs on social media?
I've seen writers share quotes or snippets with a certain level of typography design to add intrigue or artwork or photography but that's about the only thing I've come across. I think the only time I ever have concerns over use of artwork is if it's like stolen or shared w/o credit or if it is credited it's like under tons of other self promo text. Specifically referring to the typography/lettering bit I do wonder if appealing lettering design would help to boost writing posts since it could also get views from those communities
Something I'm personally curious of is if writers would be open to small illustration collabs to have artworks to go with their writings on social media or elsewhere since it seems like there's still large groups of writers who struggle to garner views for lack of "visual content".
If I look specifically at the artist side of things the only kind of content I've gotten a lot of views for is fanart whereas original content barely gets half the views or general interactions.
Plus looking at Instagram overall they've made so many drastic changes to the algorithm that the rules for interaction w/ content make it harder and harder to really stay relevant on the platform, from putting more value in shares and saves over likes and comments and then a recent changes that says there's more value in a person looking at someones content for longer. So looking at all the slides in a post, zooming in on an image or just viewing a post for longer than a few seconds because the code sees that as showing interest in something otherwise that persons content just no longer shows up in your timeline or only shows up rarely. Changes like that are part of the reason I kind of stray from the platform and I'm still not 100% sure if hashtags are even back.
