Hey, all.
I'm Kasey, and finally got around to setting up my webcomic Velocidad on here this week. A bit of a soft launch, as it's been a busy week at work, and haven't had a chance to share it yet. I've been a video game artist for about 15 years, but my first love has always been comics. I've done some small press, and self published a comic, Crossings, a dozen years ago. It's definitely a different playing field these days in comics, but I decided to jump back in. Besides the Velocidad I am also currently and illustrating another webcomic, Genocide Man. Oh, and that's all besides a pitch I'm working on with another writer. I'm drawing more than I have in a long time(besides the day job), and loving every minute of it.
Velocidad is "Bikers in Spaaaaace!". It's about a band of space bikers who pull off intergalactic heists on freighters that are hurtling through the system in a far flung future where the Sol Prime Enforcement Corporation control all and are slowly draining the system of it's resources. Velocidad is a love letter to all my favorite 80's sci-fi movies, and all the things I'd love to do in a video game. It's the style and detail of the ships that I loved and the impossible feats as these outlaws hurl through space straddling glorified rockets.
I've been at it for a couple of years, and thought I'd share here. A big thank you to @dglisson of Beast Bait for reminding me of what a great place Tapastic is to share my webcomic.
Thanks!
