Hi! I go by Gremlin and I think I’m one of the younger people on the forums (at least who interact) I’ve probably drawn all my life, but I think it was three-ish years ago when I really got into it and realized the purpose to my art, which is to tell stories. Currently working on a fantasy comic (or I would if I didn’t keep getting distracted by writing 5 other things) and the thing that keeps me going is my deep love for my characters. I love seeing through their eyes and thinking, how would this person react to a situation?

My name is Radmehr Dehghan. I’m 22 years old. I’ve been drawing for over a decade, and writing seriously for the past five years. During this time, I’ve written several stories, but until recently, I kept them all to myself. None have been shared or read by others.

There is one particular story I’ve nearly completed, but I don’t plan to publish it for another 15 to 20 years, until I believe it has reached its absolute best. In the meantime, I knew I needed to release something to grow as a writer. That’s why I wrote Between Clay and Fire. It’s the story I’ve chosen to share with the world, and I’m committed to giving it the time and attention it deserves.

My writing is deeply inspired by Ferdowsi, whose Shahnameh I consider to be the greatest literary work ever written. His words
"For thirty years, I suffered much pain and strife,
I gave the Persians back their life through this Persian tongue."
,have always moved me. His dedication inspires my own.

Outside of writing and art, I work as a real estate consultant, and I studied architecture in university.

Hello, everyone!

I'm Dimsum, a Hmong writer who's been writing fantasy-genre longform content ever since elementary school. I was that kid selling her stapled paperback books or giving them away for free in class with anime drawings:joy: My family also moved a lot, so writing kept me company in my nomadic lifestyle (& different schools). My father and his side of the family tend to pride themselves with our Miao & Chinese-influenced beliefs whereas my mother and her side were closer to their Lao & Thai roots.

At 14, I completed my first original novel in a notebook, which was then passed around between friends to read. Afterward, I posted fanfics on Fanfiction.net and Soompi. I went back to posting original stories on Wattpad and, during my uni/college years---Royal Road.

Now, I'm here on Tapas with Celestial Promise, an Asian romance fantasy/xianxia series that centers on reincarnation, celestial beings, cultivation, and Hmong/Miao cultural elements. My writing style is mostly influenced by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang (author of the C-drama, Love Between Fairy and Devil), MXTX, Meatbun, & Hmong folktales.

For a short time, I was a teacher (which temporarily killed my drive for writing). But today, I'm a part-time streamer of various video games and a journalist, spotlighting AAPI voices/stories and other marginalized communities.

Sometimes working the wrong job can really kill your passion for something you love.
I also wrote my first novel by hand ( in one of those yearly business book type of notebooks).
I'm happy you found your way back to writing, your series is great, I love the epic fantasy vibe and you know right where to break off each episode to keep the reader wanting more.

With my studies and everything around it, I haven't written for a long time. Last year, thanks to Heartstopper and Alice Oseman, I found my passion again and set myself the goal of writing a story that I wish I'd read when I was younger.
