Introductions: Let's read a bit about everyone here

Hi you wonderful, talented people. My pen name is Alice Tuinz ( recently decided, after going through quite a bunch of them, some downright embarrassing).
I've been writing for nearly as long as a I can remember. My first 'novel' was completed when I was 12 or so, a very inspired mix between my two main obsessions at the time: Sailor Moon and Star Wars. You can imagine how that one looked, but strangely, it did get me quite a bit of attention at school and was what cemented a friendship of many decades with my current writing partner.

So, if the first paragraph didn't give it away already, I'm a millennial with everything that comes with mid thirties: family, career, a suspicious perceived contraction of the hours in a day. I worked as a copywriter for a while, at the start of my career and somehow that managed to completely kill my passion for writing. It took years to get back that excitement and by then, work had gotten so complex and intense that I had no time to really focus on my childhood dream of being a published author.

Long story short, last year I started taking all my hobby roleplays I've been working on with my best friend over the years, and started writing them into novel form. The spark is back, but my time is limited. I self published last year on Amazon, but self-publishing right now feels a bit like adding a drop of water to the ocean, so I'm back to the drawing board: writing for passion, and publishing in places like this so that I can at least share my work with the world.

If tl;dr: I've been roleplaying for years, writing since I was 12, life got in the way, self publishing is hard, I'm here for fun.

I have been writing since I was the age of thirteen. I had a literary upbringing, unlike other people, since day one. Whereas other kids were being brought up on SpongeBob, Dragon Ball, and the rest, I was being brought up on Lewis Carroll, Alfred Noyes, Charles Dickens, and Rudyard Kipling. Now, I know you may think I had a Victorian upbringing but it really wasn’t. However, I didn’t get into comics until I was an adult - I never grew up reading them, but I did watch their television and film adaptations.
Entering school, I was far smarter than the rest of my classmates, many of whom, unfortunately, did not possess the same interests that I did. I wasn’t bullied - far from it - but I did still feel like an outsider there. The problem is that that school didn’t really teach me anything I perceived to be useful.
I eventually went to King’s College London, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in London. I did Classical Studies with English and graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours - even today, I don’t know what my GPA is (I am NOT American, I am British and therefore the GPA system is as foreign to me as I am sure Oxbridge would be to, say, a person from the Philippines).
It was that Classical education, as well as a burgeoning interest in graphic novels like Alan Moore’s Watchmen (recommended to me by a famous lawyer) that drove me to create Nixvir.

Been writing and drawing since as far back as I remember. Been drawing webtoons since the late 1990s to early 2000s. Yes I'm old enough to be the dad of some of you.

At first it was influenced by various shonen anime...
(I drew a scene of something obviously influenced by the Toguro tournament in yuyu Hakusho... written when I was 12)

And later on, social-political-religious commentary got thrown in...

And further on, I go beyond religion and politics...

Hi. My name is Leyelle (which is just a alternate spelling of my irl name.) I'm a 19 year old Dominican and African American writer, illustrator and waitress, interestingly enough waitressing is my third job. I've been writing since I was 15, illustrating for a few months now, both professionally, but I just started waitressing this week lol.

I love surrealism, poetry, birds, flowers, silly comics and cute art. I LOVE making people smile, and writing things that make people feel what the characters are feeling.

My nature is apparently to do what I want, even if it's the hardest possible option, which has helped me do well with writing and art so far, but also made me choose to work at a tea shoppe, simply because I love tea, despite the fact that the shop is a 14 mile bike ride away lol

My name is Justin
A few month ago I started my journey with my comic: Third Helix

Drawing has been in my life for a long time with many ups and downs. But in the end drawing makes my head crystal clear and at peace.

I am always searching for comics and stories to read.
When I started creating my own story, I only showed it to a small group of people. They motivated me to go publish on tapas. And here I am

The main genre is comedy. Creating a smile on someones face really makes my day.
I think we should laugh more, life is hard enough already.

My name is Pete, I´m a musician, writer, comic artist.
My main instruments are vocals, upright bass and acoustic guitar.
I´m from Germany. I´m into a lot of old stuff from the 1930s-1950s.

The oldest paintings that I did and still have is from 1977.
My oldest comics that I still have are from the early 80s.

My brother is a writer (novels and books for kids), songwriter and comic artist too,
we sometimes work together.

Comics are mostly my passion / hobby but I also illustrate for money and
I teach kids how to draw.

I´m working on one comic story right now which is kind of a life long passion
project. I want it to be exactly like I imagine it and I want it to be printed.
I´m working on it since a long time and I´m trying out a lot

That´s me in my work space at home + the cover of the comic I won some
german comic prize with which got me the teacher job

I've loved drawing since I was a child, but I mostly drew anime characters I liked, such as some robot anime characters or Dragon Ball characters. My parents neither encouraged nor opposed my drawing.

I stopped drawing for various reasons, and it was many years later before I picked up the pen again to draw.
Currently, I'm serializing this comic Roars and Whispers (RAW). I also take on some illustration commissions.

I like to try various different styles and incorporate them into my work. Deceased art masters I admire include Gauguin, Mucha, and Klimt.

Very well, where do I begin?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet.

My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles.

There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Hello everyone! My name is Sophia, I am 22. I have been drawing since I was 5 and writing for as long as I can remember. I had entire stories and lore attached to the toys I would play with so I never took my writing seriously because I felt it was attached to something so juvenile. I started writing the book I’m posting now in 2018, my passion for it is what led me to study writing and start seeing myself as a writer.
I’m impatient with stories I don’t enjoy and write to make the change I want to see.
I love people, I love flaws, and I love an underdog!

Thank you for the interest and the compliment. The art style that I chose there was directed
to an all ages audience. My passion project is for adults but with a similiar style.
It´s a sex comedy with a focus on the humour and cartoony awkwardness.
I want it to be printed and I will look for an european publisher for it
