I'm more of a writer and still improving my art before I do anything too serious. If all goes well I'll start uploading soon (provided that my connection holds). My favorite genres are horror and sci-fi. Being new I'm still browsing for comics to read and still have questions.

Question:

(Down the road)- For comics with blood and violence. If there are warnings present in a labeled mature comic what are the limits? (Not all my ideas for comics are too extreme, but I have some that may push it for people who don't typically read horror. Example: people/ monsters being disemboweled, eaten alive, dismembered, and of the like. That is with labels and warnings)

Hello Ig (nice shortened form btw), and welcome to Tapastic!
In your case, I'd recommend setting the episodes/pages with the examples you mention and similar stuff as NSFW (there is an option to do it when you're uploading the page). I don't really think that there are 'limits', but if you want to be sure, you can include an additional warning at the beginning of the comic, this time without setting it to NSFW, so that everyone who starts reading the comic sees the warning and understands it before keeping on reading.

I suggest this because 'NSFW' can be a bit ambiguous sometimes. I was accustomed to it meaning 'this contains sexual stuff you may not want to see in a public place', but many people use it for extreme violence too and not just sex. If you set it all to NSFW, some people may be turned off thinking that the comic is too sexual rather than gory.

That said, I'm looking forward to reading it!

Hey, I'm new here as well. I joined about a week ago. I was on IB until I found out it was going to shut down. Anyway, I like to think of myself more as an artist then writer, none the less I do really enjoy the latter.

http://tapastic.com/series/Its-a-Funny-Old-Universe - The art and writing style is supposed to reminiscent of the kind of cartoons you'd find in the paper. Each chapter just a page (A4 page). This is probably the closest to what I would consider MY art style.

I'm a french comic artist.
A few months ago, I started to publish a story on my blog, in french.
It's a fiction, but strongly inspired by my experience, as a video game studio co-founder.
I already have 100 pages in french, and about 200-300 coming up.

Tapastic seems to be a nice platform to start posting the english version.

Hey everyone!

Maybe a short introduction could be in order! We recently moved our comic No End here, like many others did with their comics after Inkblazers' shutdown notice. No End is a post-apocalyptic soap opera about a group of people trying to survive and build lives for themselves in a cold, undead-infested world. The comic's main focus is on the characters and, like said, it's really more of a soap opera in an unlikely setting than a zombie survival horror story. There are (or will be, rather) a lot of LGBTQ+ themes as well. The comic already spans over 200 pages so any new readers will have a lot of reading ahead of them, and we update regularly on every Sunday!

We hope you'd give our comic a try, and if you do, all kind of feedback is much appreciated. We would love to reach more readers here on Tapastic since the community seems really nice! We hope to see you all around, and everyone have a great and comics-filled 2015! <3

I'm also new here but I've been making comics for years now. Usually short stories or oneshots, though I had started longer comics before, only to drop them because I realized my mistakes throughout them. Still, I learnt a lot from them.
And now here I am, just started publishing my newest comic here, Vicious Circle, that I'm determined to finish. It's about demons, and angels (possibly) and a priest-in-training, and some information dealers (from the occult kind) and all that supernatural jazz.
