This kind of thing actually dissuades me from getting something, since it's like 'hop on the hedonic treadmill and lose your ability to work with inferior products ever again'! It's like ... but I like having the ability to do good work with cheap equipment; it's a useful skill :'D
(EDIT: (replying to the reply here because I really need to rein in my tendency to derail threads XD) in that case, it's probably good to upgrade if you're still feeling those little distractions and just can't get used to them, yeah :'D But if you're having trouble 'going back to' your old gear, it probably means you've acclimated to those little distractions to the point they're not distracting anymore, but then you switched to better gear and gotten used to that instead, so you've lost the acclimation you've built up for the old gear. In that case, I don't suggest upgrading.)
