Is cursing/swearing seen as mature content?

Since I just uploaded Chapter 0 of my novel and the next Chapter is going to contain some swearing/cussing from one of my side characters, I was wondering if it's necessary to censor the cursing. Is there a certain amount of swearing allowed before it's "mature content" or does any type of swearing count as mature content? I am uncertain about if I should censor the "explicit language", can leave it how it is without any problems or if I should mark the chapter itself as mature content.

I apologize if this question was asked already, I am still quite new here so I am not sure if something as "usual" as swearing is considered mature content for Tapas. Either way, thank you for your help already and just in case anyone is curious, I will leave the link to my novel here.

I think most users have a more common sense approach, which is to say casual cursing in a generally mature comic usually isn't put behind a mature filter, but rare/impactful/shocking cursing would be put behind a mature filter.

Depends who you ask, really. There's also a weird heirarchy to how offensive the words are, but people have different ideas about when it starts to be tame and non-offensive, so... Go with whatever you see fit, I guess. Slurs, on the other hand, you might wanna consider putting the tag on and a separate warning about.

Personally, I don't think profanity's all that bad tbh it's more about the intent behind it. If it's supposed to be offensive to a character on the receiving end, that might impact the reader more compared to something that's supposed to be generally nice and casual. So.. nice cursing is okay, but mean cursing is bad imo.

Okay, thank you for your help! That makes a lot of sense! In my case it is more of a rather casual and playful cursing that is just part of the character's way of speaking. I will try to keep it as minimum and tame as possible.

Ah, thank you! I do thought it would be something along the lines and sadly as both a writer and artist you can't always do everything right for everyone. Sometimes people get offended over the most minor "unimportant" (for the lack of a better word) things sadly. I will try keeping the profanity a mere minimum and just use it rarely as a way to show the character's way of speaking instead of directing it at a person. Of course, in situations of tense anger I might have to use profanity in an insulting way but then I will definitely use the mature content tag and make a separate warning I think.
