Is Doujinshi/Fan comic allowed in Tapas?

Hello!

Throughout my break from making long comics, I made fan comics/doujinshi for fun. I feel like they're interesting enough for me to post them here, to give the fandom more content (?).

So, can I post it in Tapas? Or is it prohibited because it's not my original character?

I don't know what the official guidelines are, but I've seen fan comics and fan fiction on Tapas before.

As long as you aren’t getting paid, I haven’t seen anyone actually get in trouble and last time I checked it wasn’t mentioned in the rules, so why not?

Yes they're allowed :3 my friend ran a quite popular one for a couple of years (I think it topped out at 1500 subs) called PersonA on here (MHA doujin). She's never monetised her account and the comic's still up.

I seem to remember the guidelines the mods will usually give on fan comics are "yes, you can, but don't monetise it". Though just bear in mind, if you or Tapas get a Cease and Desist from the copyright owner, Tapas won't be able to protect you and will need to comply and take it down.

I'm subscribed to a fan fiction, "a table turned (bowuigi)", so yeah, I think is allowed, but just in case, make it clear that it is fan fiction or fan art and it is based on a specific show or whatever

There's no rule against it. You just can't turn on ad revenue or support for the account that posts it.
Bear in mind, your fan series also won't be able to appear on popular, trending, or any curated lists.

@joannekwan I have another original comic that has ink support opened. Is it okay if I don't open ink support for the doujin? Or do I have to make a new account?

The support is tied to your account, so you would have to make a new account for your doujin to comply with the rules.
