Is getting a pinterest acct worth it?

so i know that the "art community" in a more broad spectrum has pretty mixed opinions regarding the site especially when it comes to things like reposting (which that in itself is it's own discussion) HOWEVER in terms of organizing references or other images for inspiration it seems at least a little useful

i guess the main reason i'm pondering this is my impatience with the "you're not signed in sign in or sign up now" popups and whatnot and i'd just like to browse uninterrupted. i'm not planning on pulling anything to the site coz tbh there's an...innumerable amount of stuff dragged on there already but like just for convenience sake is it worth it?

Absolutely. I have 6K worth of different kinds of pictures saved there, that are neatly organized and don't use your PC/phone space. Absolutely love it for the "finding similar images" option. This site is a huge inspiration booster and I found a lot of amazing artists I follow only thanks to it.

I have a Pinterest account and I gotta say it's definitely worth it!
I use it to find ideas for character outfits, locations, illustrations that I like... and even RL stuff, such as hairstyles or furniture ideas :'D

I also found it to be a pretty great tool for commissions: when I was working on character designs for a videogame, the game dev invited me to a shared private folder where he'd add pictures that could be used as inspiration for the mood/general look of the character, made things a lot easier!

It's definitely one of my favourite places to collect reference, inspiration and tutorials, especially because you can share a board with other people so easily.

I have boards for all sorts of things; art tutorials, fashion ideas for characters, inspiration and reference for painting my minis, ideas for what sort of suit I want to wear at my wedding.... and, the most important board of all... I have a board where I collect pictures and videos of adorable animals to look at when I'm feeling stressed.

Overall, I find it a really great resource for all sorts of things, particularly pinning down a specific aesthetic, because it'll find you a bunch of similar things, and you can go through getting more specific.

I find it useful to assemble reference boards to work with later.

I use it for so many reference/ inspiratio images so I 100% recommend it.

For me, I mainly use it for clothing inspiration for my characters as well as references for my 3D backgrounds and objects. Super handy for me to collect ideas of how I want something to look. I also look at pose references and art inspiration as well.

I think this board looks super concerning to people who don't know I'm a comic artist
