Is it just me… or does it seem like once you get a hundred subs… it just kinda freezes?

Me too I mean now I'm clearly over the 100 Subs barrier, but before I had the same problem.

Anyway, I don't really know what I did to get over the barrier, I just continued to read and comment other stories, actively updating, correcting mistakes and be active here, helping out others in the threads etc.

There are certain times of year or levels of subs where you sort of hit a plateau that's hard to grind out of on Tapas. If you've been stuck a while, it's good to try a new approach, for example, try doing a social media campaign, do an advertising banner swap or a seasonal collab with some friends stuck at around the same level, participate in community events as best you can.

The thing to aim for is to try to have enough readers who consistently like and comment that you regularly turn up in the "popular" rankings for your genre. It gets easier when you have more pages because like-bombs will boost you up more.

Here's my comic, and some artwork I made for it. Also, I'm still trying to get to the halfway mark of 100, so I still haven't gotten to that "100 sub freeze" and sub increase, has been going a pretty consistent pace for a while now. So, we'll see what happens.

Donnie is a psychopathic kid who's been trying to escape his destructive downfall. Having to choose whether to keep trying to better himself, or take the easy way out and go full violent on his country's twisted, and backwards people. For now, he's taking advice from different entities, whether it's his plush toy Libby, his psychotic neighbor AJ, or a masked "dream" figure known as The Masked Stalkee.

GENRE: Dark Comedy, Horror, Psychological Fiction, Supernatural Fiction, Drama, Satire, Fantasy.

I've been slowly climbing through the mid-60's on Tapas for a month or two. Losing a sub here, gaining one or two there, that sort of thing. So I'm nowhere near the 100-sub freeze yet.

Webtoon is even worse, though-- I've been stuck at 22-23 subscribers for MONTHS. I started as page format, then changed it to vertical to see if that helped, and... nothing budged. I guess I just don't resonate over there as much! That or the amount of promoting I do on the Tapas forums makes a BIG difference.

Anyway, my comic is a traditional-art fantasy comic (elves, swords, magic, etc.), and chapter one is about Adi, the only person in her village who can't use magic, and no one knows why, and how her life goes from 'meh' to incredible to hell in a handbasket to completely different in the span of about 24 hours. Chapter two will focus on the other MC, Koreal, and how much he's willing to sacrifice to acquire forbidden magic.

So on both tapas and webtoon I have 1.7k views. On tapas I have 115 subs (been stuck there) on Webtoon I have 40 subscribers. Webtoon is terrible for creators.

Probably a winter wonderland, not everyone celebrates christmas so a general winter theme might be best? but I'm fine either way!

I don't have this problem since i don't have 100 subs, jokes aside it happened to me when i had around 57 (or was it 67?) , it would go from 7 to 9, then back to 7, it just wouldn't get "whole" number

For me at least, sometimes it grows a little bit. But with each growth, I lose at least one subscriber. That's just part of the whole process really. Maintaining an audience and all that. Most of them aren't really active with my series. I'm just thankful that I have a small number of that really enjoys my work for what it is.

i think that few of those subs might be sub for sub people, that's what others told me when my sub count would jump up and down by just one sub
