More people should do one-shots in general, planning to do more comics or not. It's a great way to just learn the ropes on several aspects of drawing and writing and just getting your feet wet in showing off a completed story - and if you find out it's not for you, at least you're not cancelling a beloved tale that you really wanted to complete.
I did two one-shots(one was traditional and I didn't really like the result, the other is in the One Comic A Week Collab Project), and it was really good to learn how to cut down everything I wanted to tell into as few pages as possible. I didn't like to write only the essentials, Splitting Image is going to show off how much I like to add many many scenes for character development to make sure it's estabilished, but if I had started out with my big story right away it would've been a mess because I had no idea how to organize layers so drawing panels isn't a nightmare, lettering that doesn't cover important things, estabilishing mood with subtle color changes, etc etc.
So uh... Yeah! It's okay to have a full one shot and nothing else, or tackling comics again when you feel you have the time to commit. I'd only recommend uploading the pages every few days even if it's already done to space it out a little, because you'll only show up in the Fresh section once a day.
