Is it Ok to use the term Sapphic?

For context, I have a character who is a Valkyrie. She became a Valkyrie in the 19th century, and still speaks in an old fashioned victorian way. Basically, at a future point in the comic, she will briefly mention her sexuality, and mention that she likes girls. (I am planning for her to get into a relationship later on). Would it be OK for her to refer to herself as Sapphic, or is that term considered derogatory? I'm a straight ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, and I don't want to use a discriminatory term. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I know different people have different views on different terms, but I'm asking as a rule of thumb.

Oh, I didn't even know some people were against the term. I'd always heard it being used neutrally including from lesbian voices. Guess I'll wait too to see what people have to say on the matter.

Lesbian here, I think it's perfectly fine. I use it myself and it's just an umbrella term for all things wlw.

I’m a bi girl and use the term sapphic. I don’t see why there’d be an issue with it

I think the only contention people have is that it's an alternative to the word lesbian? Even then I thought it just mean any form of female love whether platonic or romantic.
