Is it possible to start and finish a one shot in a weekend?

Just a idea I had but is it possible write and draw a one shot in a weekend

Sure, if you rush it and if you stick to a really short pagecount. 12 pages is usually a good bet for something very short.

You could easily make a 4-panel over a weekend, and it wouldn't need to be rushed so much.

Still, you should really take your time with your comics because if you rush them they're probably not going to be very good.

Short answer: Not really

Long Answer: Either by severely damaging your wrists or doing such a simples style that you can finish one panel in less than an hour. Always take your time, for both planning and the art part. You might finish something that's basically sketches but it could be so much more with the appropriate time.

One time, I drew an entire 30 page oneshot in just 3 days. I injured my back from sitting for too long though, and it still hurts months later. Plus the pages looked like shit.
And this 3 days doesn't include the time I spent doing the outline and scripting.
So I don't really recommend it, for health reasons and because the quality will suffer.
So maybe give ourself a bit more time. 2 weeks might be better?

It's definitely possible, though the quality will suffer. Check out 24 Hour Comic Day! I did it once a long time ago. The result is too embarrassing to show though.

I was also able to sketch a 20 page chapter out in a 24 hour period too. But inking takes more time...

Is it bad that I assumed you meant a one shot dnd session? Cause that’s what I thought you meant.... my answer was gonna be yes.

I bet someone out there would be able to do it if they had proper planning and direction. Would it be the healthiest thing to do? Most certainly not. Would the quality suffer? I absolutely think so.

It would be an interesting challenge to have a "Weekend One Shot" where we make super short one shot stories, kind of like a 48 hour film festival. It might be a fun challenge as long as people didn't take it too seriously, otherwise it could be very straining.

It is definitely possible, though probably not something you want to do on a regular basis. I used to participate in 24 Hour Comic Day, where the challenge was to draw a 24-page comic in 24 hours. It was a lot of fun and a really interesting challenge, but totally exhausting.
