I think it is more on if you like to do it, than in if it worths it.
It seems just a decision you take, like doing it in colour or b/w 
In the end, people will pass to see it, but it is you the one who's going to spend more time on it (because you're the creator), so it is better to wonder:
Do I really want to put my time on this? Am I going to enjoy doing it?
If the only thing that comes to your mind when you wonder these questions is if it will make a change on your readership... better not do it.
Art is not only what you want to express and if the result is more or less impressive, but also about you enjoying and learning about yourself in the process.
Does including animation on your comic sounds challenging and excites you, or does it sound like a nag and you get exhausted just thinking about doing it?
