Is Magix Music Maker good for composing?

Not sure about that program, but Beepbox is a solid free composing website that helped me a lot when i make music for my videogame. It doesn't need a download (unless you want to download your finished songs of course)

The program is really easy to use and has many instruments.

Magix is not, I installed it after like an hour and it started lagging my computer out like crazy and never loaded. Uninstalling.

If you want to make professional quality music, then I would suggest either Ableton or FL Studio. FL Studio has a trial version if you want to give it a go. Both are expensive to purchase.

If this was an issue, you're likely going to have this with any professional DAW you use. They are very CPU (and often RAM) intensive. What are the specs on your computer?

Yeah, I do have an old computer, that's - that's fair. Beepbox, however, is moving pretty smoothly so far, @DiegoPalacios ! Here's my current little ditty, I think I might make this Serif's theme. Seems appropriately perky. Summerskulls (working title)

This is a pretty niche fit, but I'm actually a fan of using PXTone, which was originally created by the guy who made the indie game Cave Story. He created a music production program to make chiptune-style music for his game. I'm just using it as a drum machine for right now to play bass over it though (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX9t-bVDeZY)

It might take a short bit to get how it works (read a quick tutorial), but personally I find it VERY user-friendly and easy to read how the music is getting played. It's by no means the best music production software, but its free and easy enough to use that you can compose an original tune.
