I have so many thoughts on this topic, but I'll be somewhat brief.
I was reading the story of how Amy Chu got into writing comics. She began by taking an online creative writing course that was full of great people and fans of this or that, but how very few of them could tell a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end. That always stuck out to me bc I've always been involved in artistic circles where storytelling is priority #1, but it may not be as common a habit among the general populace.
To fully answer the question, I don't think anything much is "easy." It may be easier or come more naturally to some, but at the end of the day, I've always thought that if something looks easy, that's because someone worked their tail off to make it seem like it ain't much work. That look of ease might invite people to say "I could do that" without real knowledge of how much blasted work there is behind it. I feel like storytelling, in all of its mediums, is probably one of those biggest things people look like that at.
Also, psychologically speaking, storytelling is engrained in us, but just 'cause we're sort of built for it, doesn't mean everyone's good at it.
TL:DR; Good storytellers make it look easy and inviting; everyone can tell stories, but not everyone's good at storytelling (if any of that makes sense).
