Yes there is.
When you release a new episode, the novel/comic is featured at the top of the new releases list allowing a browser to click on it. This takes them to the new episode and counts as a view, regardless of the episode being read or not.

If you are under the impression that all the people visiting your novel are reading it like a book, page after page, chapter after chapter, you'll will be mistaken.

I tend to skip in novels and comics, sometimes (mostly comics) it´s because I´m excited, sometimes
because some passages feel too long

People will go back and reread things if it's been a while or will skim through to try and see where they were if the app bugged out and didn't remember where they were at. Plus M rated chapters will be blocked to underage users depending on the severity of the filter, so yeah, totally normal human behaviour, it doesn't even mean people are skipping chapters, a 3 view discrepancy is normal.

So, a couple of extra thoughts:

First, depending on how you have your settings configured, you can direct people to the first chapter or the "latest." If you've got descending order toggled on, that could explain why EP9 has more views than EP8.

I also think your own views count. So if you clicked on a chapter to make sure something looked right, but you didn't click on the previous chapter(s,) that'll add to the discrepancy too.
