Is this editor thing legit?

Recently I got a private message from a 'editor from another platform' wanting to distribute my work (which is one unfinished story), and left an Outlook email address so I can contact him and talk about it. Is this any way legit, and if it is, what does he mean by distributing my work???

Listen, if someone comes to try and poach you, it usually means it's a scam. Most large platforms won't have to do poaching as they get enough pitches sent their way. (Like Tapas, Radish and Wattpad) Though Radish does sometimes reach out to people if they want to try out new genres - so if Radish reaches out to you, it's not scammy. In my experience literally everything else has been.

I've gotten a phone call several times along the same lines that's from a company known to take all profits from your book's sales. They wanted book 2, not book 1, so I knew right away it was a scam hahahahha

This is why it's always best to research these things. Google the email address first and foremost and see if it's been black-flagged at all. If they mention a company, again Google your heart out and check reviews, reports, etc.

You too can be a private detective. and save your work from getting into the wrong hands.
