Hello, it's been a long time since I last shared something here.
Well, the topic is, is what you write the same as what you read? Because for me, it's not.
I mean, I usually write about love or maybe some real-life things we experience, but when it comes to reading, it's like I have to discover what people like to write about; it's like reading other people's thoughts.
So please share your works here; I want to enjoy reading them.
Also, please read my works; I will share the novel I'm currently working on.
Please support me, as I will support you too.

Hi. I write, generally speaking, sci-fi and fantasy. While I don't read as much as I used to when I was young, my taste still runs in that vein. I have recently added a drama to my works and that one runs on the outside track of religion.

I have also, although they are not seen on Tapas, written Apologetics, Essays, short stories, and poetry.

Hello! It’s nice to meet you! @Smitaa I’ve subscribed and gave some hearts to your pages.

As for the threads topic, I do agree with your perspective on the subject. While from time to time I do read some comics and books that are similar to my work, I really like to read other authors different works because I do like to see all the unique ideas that come from their imaginations. I also like to read other people’s stories because I am able to learn from their unique perspectives and experiences as well as gain inspiration for my own stories along the way.

HELL YEAH!!!! and if you want to try the same as me, here is a synopsis that brings you in.

General synopsis: In 2158, global tensions between Arga and Yuropa push the world to the brink of the Third Territorial War. But before conflict can erupt, an apocalyptic event splits the planet in half, wiping out half of humanity, restricting the alive to go and access the resources on the other side of the blinding light. As the survivors rebuild their lives within the safety of Dome cities, monstrous creatures emerge from the chaos, ravaging everything in their path.

Amidst the destruction and uncertainty, a group of soldiers embarks on a desperate mission. Driven by their noble cause to protect and reclaim what is lost, they confront the terrifying truths of their harsh new reality. Racing against time, these brave souls face unimaginable challenges as they fight to safeguard the remnants of humanity and possibly save the entire world from total annihilation.

A link to your story:

I think it depends, we all draw from what we know, and root the emotional anchor of our story in our feelings, whether we realize it or not, that’s what connects us to the story. My characters deal with a lot of heavy issues that I have experienced in way or another, just made more dramatic by the trappings of the fantasy genre of the story. Some of it you do have to research, which can be part of the fun, too. I read a bit about metals when writing the first chapter of my story for example ^^

starting a new novel, a new type of writing, and i hope everything likes it.

Apocalypse Squad shares the tale of a lone survivor trying to live in a world infested by a Zombie outbreak, Radioactive contamination, and treachery. amidst this corrupted landscape, the sole remaining human must forge alliances with others who can be trusted, all while surviving against hordes of Undead monsters and attempting to unravel the mystery behind the radiation that has poisoned the entire world and turning everything into chaos.

Genre: mystery, horror/thriller, adventure, and survival.

I usually read fantasy stories, but I've been known to pick up a thriller/horror novel. As far as what I write? Much of the same. I've got about a hundred novel ideas sitting around in my Google docs, most of which are fantasy, horror, or slice of life.

Anyway, check out my current series! I'm trying for the AF Tourney. Any feedback you have would be much appreciated!

Yes! What I write is the same as what I read. Because of this, I'll find myself being a fan of my comic series. It is a slice-of-life comedy with some LGBTQ+ in it, which is precisely what I like to read.

Yup right now I’m working on a fantasy novel but perhaps when I’m done with the fantasy genre, I might try sci-fi or a mystery thriller as well. As for reading, it’s mostly fantasy but I’m willing to try just about any genre.

What I've read over the years has definitely helped to direct what exactly I write about. I don't read much horror at all, so almost none of my writing has any aspect of that. Romance and comedy are never the focus of what I write, but it's sprinkled about in my stories, which are primarily action and adventure, fantasy or sci-fi stuff. In my current web-novel's case, it's action-fantasy, but set in a steampunk world (a genre I'm only slightly familiar with).

I read plenty of slice-of-life things too, and I worry at times my works that are meant to be faster paced take too long because I spend so much time talking and working on the characters. At the same time, I want people to be as connected with my casts as I feel connected with the characters of other stories.

I draw Horror and Humor and I also mostly read Humor and Horror. However, if it is a good enough story, I will read a novel or comic in any genre. :tapa_mummy: That being said I did enjoy your novel and I did subscribe. Here is my comic for your mutual support. :pumpkin:

When it comes to writing, I like to put myself in the "What if?" scenarios, imagining how things might unfold in different situations. But for reading, it's a bit different! I often dive into genres that aren't usually my go-to, and it’s helped me explore and enjoy stories I wouldn’t have expected to like. I’m always amazed by the creativity and imagination in everyone’s work!

Here's what I currently working on:

And have finished one as well though it's more fun and comedy than the story itself:

I would say yes since my work is actually inspired by Jane Austen and Bronte sisters when it comes to literary inspirations, yet my other inspirations for The Viscount and The Playwright are: Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Bojack Horseman, Guillermo del Toro, etc.

To be fair, I'm more focus on character-oriented stories instead of the genres of my inspirations. Sometimes, I would draw inspiration from character analysis videos, or few of my experiences.

(Yes, I'm a lifelong comic book lover and I read comics of all kinds including ones that are somewhat similar to mine.)

Have a daily comic strip called The Experiment check it out, subscribe let me know if you like it or if you don't either way is cool with me. The Experiment1
