I don't know if mine is off the beaten path enough to be called as one. While mine does seem kinda stereotype (sword and magic world, prince as main characters, RPG-like world setting), my story do tap to deeper psychological aspect of the characters (not only beat the villain and save the world, even though it's kinda the main plot)

Most of the characters in Eigria: Lume are actually having trauma experience as their own action driver. There are quite mental health issues inside the novel. A character is actually suffering from hallucinations and anger issues, while another is living in deep grief to the point not want to eat and having failed suicidal attempts. There is a man who obssessed with his wife. It'd even dwells in villain's point of view in the future (which also stems from some untreated mental issues).

For me, it's 13+ due to trauma/mental health issues, mild swearing/curses, murder, violence. Current chapters are not tagged mature, but I don't know about the future ones, especially those which would focuses on the characters.

Eigria is the world's name --a fictional I created. Lume is in Latin, means light (and in a kind also means world). This is originally titled свет (Svet) when I created the draft 7+ years ago, but I changed the title so it'd easier if someone wants to search it in the app/tapas site.

Also, I don't want anyone to think it's written in Russian (and I am not a one either). Just think the word is beautiful.

I heard of Game of Thrones, but I never read nor watched. It was kinda famous back then in my place too, but I'm not the one who follow the trend (usually disappointed because mostly overhyped marketing.. idk about game of thrones tho). Valria is just a name somehow emerged inside my head when I was in early shs life 🤣

Your welcome! I love it when someone asks about trivias or fun facts about my stories. I sometimes do think whether I just made uneccessary effort (just like my title... one of my friend asked me the same question as yours and said "why did you think that far for a title?")

With that title, you've got the intrigue angle down pat. Whether your effort is "unnecessary" is entirely up to your judgment of said effort...

Glad to hear that the title actually brings intrigue. I have mixed feeling when changed it because I think Svet brings more intrigue (I still occasionally referring Lume as Svet to my proofreader and confuse her lol. Guess it's habit)

About effort, I agree with you. Although it may seem unnecessary to others, I always do it like that to all of my stories Spending hours finding perfect names for their personalities like parents naming newborn babies, setting the world like setting a new company, and a lot of behind the scene which may or may not captured by readers. For me, those are necessary (or maybe it's just my whole life hobby lol)

Volunteer. She's my bestie. We're both not a native English speaker, tho (she has better grammar and lives overseas). She's basically a beta reader who points out whether my sentences went strange or too influenced with my native language, as my natuve language has different structure from english.

This is me just seeing this now...eh, my instincts almost named the novel "Tic Tac Toe" (actually did for a hot minute) the cover art was a TURTLE a TURTLE of all things.

I still drew the MC as a turtle tho, it's so cute:
