So this is very off-topic here, but I've had an idea for a video game for a while. Basically, the idea is a guy works at a grocery store where, overnight, the employees turn into monster versions of themselves. He wants to quit, but the only way to get out of his employment contract is to defeat the other employees. I'm finally close to making the game real, and I was wondering which characters people might like most.
So I've created a different character for each department in the grocery store.
Meat and Seafood:
Meet Butcher; he's a Butcher.
In the game, he would be a brawling character who relies on brute strength and heavy attacks with his meat. He'd be slower than most characters, but his attack strength makes up for it.
Frozen:
Meet Neo Knight; he's a Neapolitan ice cream monster.
In the game, Neo would be a brawler like Butcher, but he'd be a bit weaker because he also has more Projectiles at his disposal. Neo Knight can ice cream and freeze his opponents.
Floral and Garden:
Meat Gloria, Thorn Archer.
In the game, Gloria would be a long-range fighter, at her best when she can shoot opponents from a distance. Her close combat strength would be poor, but she can teleport by going into the ground and coming up on the other side of arenas to give herself space.
Dairy:
Meet Egg Master, he can be a little hard-boiled, but often he's scrambled.
In the game, Egg Master would rely on projectiles like Gloria, but his mobility would be significantly slower. His body would be more durable, though. Opponents would have to destroy his entire outer shell before they could hurt his main body.
Utilities and sanitation:
Meet Jill, the Janitor.
In the game, Jill would be a side character that talks to and helps the player, but if she were a combatant, her fighting style would be a mix of speed and trap setting. For example, soap on the floor that makes her opponent slip or spraying toxic chemicals.
Last but not least, we have
Box and can goods:
Meet Stock Boy; he'd be the title character of the game.
In the game, Stock Boy would be a mixed fighter, a jack of all trades. He'd have strong attacks and fast attacks. And he'd have good long-range and close combat skills. He has a diverse skill set, but he's not as strong as the other characters.
Whose design do you like more, and if/when this is eventually a game, who do you think you would use more?
