Just released my first ever manga! Any feedback appreciated :)

Hello everyone, I have just released a new manga.
This is my first ever experience on making/writing a manga and publishing it on platforms such as Tapas. I would like people to come check my story out and see what you like/not like about it (feel free to leave a comment on it as well if you want). I have currently only released the prologue and part 1 of chapter 1 so I can sort of get the gist of things I need to improve/continue to work on and things that work well for my manga.
If anyone has got advice on how often I should post as well in order to gain traction and traffic, please feel free to mention as well ^_^
I would also like to connect to other creators on Tapas, so post your stories down below as well.

Hi, I read your manga, and first of all i want to congratulate you on the art style and neatness it has, it looks really pro, well done. But about the story, even though I kind of got the idea it is about zomies or something like that I quickly got lost and did not understand what happened, maybe I am dumb I don't know, but I feel it needs more explanation or a better way of presenting the incoming chaos in the story, like at one moment the protagonist is at a classroom full of classmates and the other she is alone with some zombies? I didn't get that, sorry.
Anyways, looking pretty good, I wish I had your visual skills.

PD: I would have left a "heart" or something like that like on instagram to the pages but I didn't find a way, I am new here

To clarify, chapter 1 is basically her starting out in the classroom, teacher announces over the speakers, they celebrate but then strange noises come from the speakers afterward, teacher shouts run after she is heard struggling on the speaker.

Because of the storm outside they have what seems like a blackout in the school together with the sound of thunder. This causes all the students to panic and escape the classroom. My main girl also attempt to escape down the stairs but due to the stampede she changes her mind and tries to find another way out. As she goes a different way, she finds students being eaten by other zombies and decides she needs a weapon. This is wear she meets main girl 2 who she helps outrun the zombies.

I didn't wanna add a lot of dialogue here because I kind of wanted to let the art speak for itself but maybe my visualisation wasn't clear enough and it became confusing for the readers so sorry about that. But hope that explains what's going on so far

Hello! welcome to Tapas and Forums and congratulations on posting your first work on here

So I read your comic/manga and I think it had a great start.
The art is very good (the cover was beautifully drawn) and I love how all the scenes and backgrounds are drawn very professionally.

I also like the FL is strong and brave.The story seems to be interesting as to how everything gotten to this point till now.
And I am very interested in what will happen next and I am looking forward to the upcoming episode so I think you should keep working on it.

First off I want to say that I think your manga looks really good I think that there is too much text in the prologue as it feels very novel-ly in the beginning. "Day turned to dusk, and minutes into hours" Ideally i don't think you need it. Having those very striking images of the school covered in blood are very impact-full without the words. Sure you want to tell what is going on, but make is simpler. For example "a ball of sweat started to drip... as i took on more gulp" i think is not necessary. Show it. Show her sweat, and add a sfx: gulp to it. Trust your images with out the text. Her thought bubbles on the other hand are placed well i think.
now lets move to chapter 1. I think that this much better. I think it sets the scene well, and is far more mysterious than the prologue. as a minor note, you typography can use al ittle help. make you txt in the prologue a little bigger in the speech bubbles. And the ding dong feels so blocky. I would try something else. But there are pretty minor things, and I look forward to read more.

I'd be really interested to hear about the creation process behind this comic, since there are at least three different illustrators credited (one of the art credits is a "studio"), and the style is inconsistent enough to suggest that the art was passed around between a number of people.
The drawing is generally decent quality, but with noticeable inconsistency in style and often a lack of a sense of continuity between different shots that makes it feel choppy and hard to feel like we're with the protagonist as she moves through the school.
It's a little over-toned too, and could maybe use some more confident use of black fills to create the dark tone, more like a comic like Fullmetal Alchemist or Death Note would rather than throwing tone onto everything and making the comic feel low-contrast and muddy.

The writing and plot so far are perfectly competent, but I feel like it needs something unique, like a special sauce. Like right now, it's decent, but it'd be pushed up to "great" if there was some kind of additional twist on the "girl who is not like other girls proves how she's uniquely more capable than others when her school is attacked by zombies and she becomes a badass survivor." Solid start, but the big question is: what's special and different about this zombie story?

Very true, I appreciate your feedback on this. I do have something more under my sleeve otther than the typical 'badass main girl' trope so hopefully I can pull that off by illustrating it properly. And yes I agree with you on the changes in artstyle, I am now sticking with the artist that did the prologue so from now on, the art will definitely be more consistent in that regards.

But yes, your feedback was very helpful and I will definitely take it into consideration as I'm working on the next part now Thank you very much!

I just finished reading your story and I love the art especially your usage of screen tones. As for the plot I find it very interesting and suspenseful it makes me wonder about the origin of the zombies. Not sure if you're familiar with this game dead rising but your manga reminds me of it. I've already subscribed to your manga and i'm waiting for future updates.

Two things here:

Lot of violence here so make sure you set "mature" on here so as not to gross people out.

Secondly, the first thing I thought of was "High School of the Dead". Tell me this is going to be better than that, and you get a subscription. Love the art.

I'm at a loss. Manga is more popular here, it seems. How is something like our "Island Girls" like? Could we make it manga? We don't have much dialogue in it and rely on the art. Is manga just manga because it looks like manga or...help me out there.
