Does anyone know if I need to be a publisher to be able to print my comic through them?

When I was going to make an account it asks me for a Publishing name

I don't know anything about Ka-Blam, but when I wanted to make my own printed comics, I just contacted a local print shop (no publisher involved).

It says that it's good service for independent creators, so i think you can do it without publisher. But you should email them just to be sure.

I had a comic printed in the local print shop and a lot of details are lost in printing.
Dunno if that's because of their printer or that happens in general or is it up to dpi.

I have printed through Ka-Blam before, you don't have to be a publisher. I'd just put your name or the username you put your comics under as your publishing name.

They replied to me very quickly when I asked them that question
Although the delivery fee is 30 dollars, I'm not sure anymore that I want to do it just to try and see if there will be a loss of details because of printing.

What was the dpi on the files that you had printed before?

650 and 250 they are from grayscale comic

The 650 would be fine but the 250 is probably your problem - for print you generally want 300 dpi minimum, and even higher when you're working in black and white.

you can find a lot of online print shops that can print book formats. I did to print a few copies of my first webcomic as a small booklet haha

I've been using Ka-Blam for years now...when they ask for Publishing name, they mean "what is the publishing imprint that you are publishing your books under"? My publishing name/imprint is Studio Brie Comix...

For black & white/grayscale you just need a file dpi of 300(or slightly higher; I just use 300 and PDF format)- any less and the quality loss will show. Make sure your pages are formatted CORRECTLY and to the file type that they require(they have templates that you can use to size/fit your pages)...the paper they print the comics on is better than your average "copy machine" quality; the cover stock is the same.
