I recently got the first part of Chapter 1 of my comic up on Amazon. It's available hard copy and Kindle!

I had to do a lot of editing with the pdf. Actually 2 pdfs. One for the inside and one for the cover to match their requirements.

My comic was already in page form as I never did the webtoon style.
They review your stuff if you decide to go live and will tell you the problems to fix.

This is great. do they accept NSFW books as well? I am considering this process and want to look into it.

No. Amazon will terminate your account if you post NSFW content. Check their T&C..

Oh okay, sounds pretty good though. I heard other publishers sometimes want lots of changes in the story itself. I might consider this then, when I have some more chapters ready. I luckily also work in the page format ^^

Good on you, man! I tried printing through Amazon a while back, and have a whole Twitter thread dedicated to cataloguing my woes. After all the reedits my book came out looking like pure ass, decided to stick with Comix Well Spring since I didn't have the time or energy to mess with it anymore. The only thing I did was make my comic available via Kindle since that was less of a hassle.

It's nice to see when folks get decent looking books from Amazon, in spite of their truly garbage system.

Congrats!
It took me months to rework my comics. I love how they look in print, but you will pull your hair out trying to figure it out. I also had the page format so it was a lot easier.

But I also changed a webtoon version into a print on demand book too.

The biggest minus is definitely the thin paper and the guidelines. As well as the spine. The text is never on the same line. They even state that the binding will not look the same on every book.

My complaint was that if you don't fill out all the pages (my book at first had 36 and now 38, pages,) you just have blank pages. That and I initially had blue around some of my memory/ backflash pages and had to get rid of it because they kept saying the background wasn't reaching the edges even though I did my best to fix it and wound up getting rid of it. This was a big learning curve so hopefully it'll be easier going forward.

I have black around the edges for some pages and I had to re do the page number many times on those as Amazon's detection did not like them.

I think that is kinda annoying and I'm glad to know it's not just me. I won't bother doing that or panels that go to the edges because it'll probably be a headache and manipulating panels is harder than simply changing canvas size and coloring it in.
